Teammates Wanted! And Left 4 Dead First Impressions
by FalconReaper on Comments
Hello there everybody who's tracking me, an to everyone else hello. This has been a good past few days. For those of you who know about it, There's a huge sale on Steam. Everything is on sale ranging from 10-75% off. The reason why I bring this upis because I managed to snag Bioshock for 5 bucks and Left 4 Dead for the somewhat reasonable $37.49. keep in mind that this is Canadian money so it'll work the exchange rate thing out.
The ifrst game I played was Left 4 Dead, and now I know what everyone's been gushing over. I played through half of the first scenario, and my god is it fun! I personally believe that my playing of Call of Duty 4, Resistance 2, and Far Cry 2 ( or as I classify them as a breed called the Thinking Man's FPS), this is a refresher by making it a mindless zombie murder sim. I'm telling you this know playing alone is fun is great but it is even better with friends, is you have a steam account please add me. My name is Specter. And in closing, I call dibs on Bill!
Immersion, Thou art a cruel mistress

Hello, Fellow Surfers. This is Mojo, Better known as FalconReaper, and I have A Question. Have you ever been fully immersed in a game that you've played? Ever? I'm gonna get alot of varying answers from this, But in my opinion, No. not 'til recently that is. The reason why I' m bringing this up is beacause I was playing my way through Dead Space almost a month ago. I'd never played survival horror before, and I've never seen its kind of game before ( I'm only 17 and have been gaming since the end of the SNES era and the early days of 3D). From the Introduction to the part where you go onto the Valor (that's as far as I've played before the disc bugged out). I Honestly felt like was the one in Issac's RIG (that's what your armor is called for the uninitiated), trying to survive against the Necromorph Horde. I nearly soiled myself while playing to be honest and the atomsphere was second to none (in my opinion at least).
I was fully engrossed in the world that the designers created, which is an amazing feat onto itself in my opinion. Never before was I so scared of a game, and it was all the more unbelieveable when it was broken (the aforementioned bugging out of the disc). It got me thinking, why can't all story driven games be like this? Of course, as time went on, I learned that only a select few games can do it properly. An example of this is when I played Assassin's Creed on the PC way back in January. With the help of a plot device, I honestly felt like an assassin in the Third Crusade. What I'm getting at is that games that go the extra mile in making you feel apart of it is a great game, sure its got problems , but there easily forgiven. now, I'd like to end by saying what games have you been fully Immersed in?
Unleashing the Dark Side...from a gaming perspective

Do not Underestimate the Power of The Dark Side...Or current generation consoles

I know you have been hearing alot about it, so I'll keep the details at a minimum, Star Wars The Force Unleashed is gonna rock! I myself am not a diehard Star Wars Fan, but I have interest in the series to know its gonna be good. You have all of these wicked Force Powers right from the get-go, and seeing it in action is amazing. While GTA IV introduced the world to the Euphoria Engine, it will be unleashed in this game. It will have the production values of a good hollywood movie, and an interseting story to match. In the first level you play Darth Vader and get to Force Choke Wookies finding the Apprentice. Sure, the Apprentice's Lack of a force choke is dissapointing, but to make up for it you get the coveted force Lighting power (and it makes sense that VAder doesn't have lighting because he's practically a cyborg).
What I'm getting at is that if you have a remote interest Star Wars, then get this game when it comes out on September 16th, you won't be disappointed.
