Most Final fantasies(except for the tactics series) have a leveling up design flaw called " level up enough and your god".Why play strategy when you level up and kill bossed in one turn no problem?(cough*FFVII Knights of the round,FFVI Offering Genji glove/Gogo+ultima=unstoppable*Cough)
Basinboy
Noob, go play some RPGs before making that stupid comment.
Nah, he's got a point on that remark. Beating final bosses, when you're "leveled up enough" is quite simple, especially at max levels. FFVIII was the only game that wasn't really this way. But optional bosses, in most FF games even when you're maxed out, are ridiculous. Ruby Weapon? Nemesis? Those two were extremely hard, even when I was completely maxed.
And it's the same with Zelda. You collect enough Heart containers and no matter how many times you get hit, you can't die. Each and every game has a flaw that makes perfection unattainable and that flaw itself is usually the perfection of power.
The POINT is nearly EVERY RPG have the leveling system. It's not just FF.
That's not really a relevant point. Every action-adventure game has some sort of health system, item system, and dungeon system, so what? FFXII doesn't have the level system and FFX has an altered and unique level system (sort of). The level system has become standard in the RPG genre and is an attraction to certain people. Just because it isn't for you (which is fine) doesn't necessarily make it obsolete to the action-adventure system in any way.
C'mon did you even read his post? I'll post here again and bold them so you can read it again

Did you read that? Good.. now he said, "FF have a leveling up design flaw". Basically the point to matter is nearly every RPG has the leveling system just the same way as most FF games have. Therefore, calling it flaw is just the same way as calling the whole genre is flawed. Which means he needs to play more RPGs before making an attempt to post such an ignorant statement.
It all makes sense as long as he replaces the word "flaw" with the words "reocurring theme". Just replace them and I think that is what he and I were trying to get across.
"Recurring (typo by the way if you didn't notice) theme"??? You meant monotonous?
[QUOTE="mantidor"][QUOTE="blind59"][QUOTE="mantidor"][QUOTE="FalennixonX"][QUOTE="JDzero"][QUOTE="FalennixonX"][QUOTE="jdeurlein"][QUOTE="FalennixonX"]Easy pick, FF because Zelda pretty much a garbage series that surround the same old lame characters. Don't give me that stupid smiley. You know I'm right.
Your obiously a cow that hasn't played zeldaYup I'm a cow because I own and beat LoZ: Collector's Edition and LoA: Wind Waker for the GC:|. Seriously w/ all the big fuzz about those games, I was disappointed when I played them. Although I know I haven't played enough Zelda games, but beating three of the best games in the series is enough for me to judge.
this is the problem with FF fanboys, they focus too much on story, if you are so eager to get awesome stories, go read books, games are meant to be played, and in that front FF has nothing on Zelda. Hello you fool a game without a story now a days is like not even a game. Even some sports games have a little bit of story to them. What the hell is wrong with having a good story to go along with a game huh? yeah sure, Tetris or the precious lumines for the sony fanboys are no games then... and when did I said that having a good story was wrong? its a fine extra, but saying Zelda, a game, sucks because it doesnt have "teh awesome story" or the characters are the same in all the games is pretty stupid.Very good point (bold part). But if you look at the history of games that have been successful in the past, there are two things that define what makes them legendary (most legendary games, anyway). 1) Unique and innovative gameplay. And 2) Captivating environments, characters, and plots. Think about it, would Halo have been Halo without all the drama? Would MGS be as memorable without all action and drastic plot twists? No, they wouldn't be quite the same.
Plots are small pieces to make up a story. Therefore, having good story line is as important as the gameplay. However, it also depends on the genre that you're talkin' about. FPS usually concentrate more on the gameplay and what not. RPG tends to stay w/ good story line.
