I don't want to hear from Dice, they're just the scapegoat for EA's avarice. They were the resource used to create this abomination. Notice that EA hasn't said a damn word. It's always "Some producer guy at Dice said..." Don't buy EA games. RIP Dice, EA is gonna blame this on you and pull the plug just like they did to visceral and dead space 3 (which was ruined by the same anti consumer BS).
I love this game, and I really hope it gets some new/returning players from this update. Personally, I'd like to see daily challenges to earn fight money like playing 3 casual matches as a certain character, or landing X hit combos, etc. Add tons of stuff to that store and give us colors, costumes, and other rewards for reaching certain milestones (player lvl, character lvl, League Points). Arcade mode is a must, preferably with unique dialogue like in 4's rival fights with an in-game cutscene at the end. Add alternate critical arts and v skills for each character and bring back dramatic battle from alpha 3 with online or couch co-op and you'll have a fighting game that casual players will enjoy a lot more.
Best campaign in an fps I've played in a very long time. Great graphics and soundtrack, amazing enemy design, creepy atmosphere, no-nonsense pacing and most importantly, it's just a ton of fun to play through. I will say, however, that the final couple hours of the game started to stretch a little thin, but they were still enjoyable. I already started a 2nd playthrough which is something that usually takes me at least couple weeks to do.
MP is fine and has some interesting ideas, but overall I don't see it having a lot of staying power. You'll probably play 10-15 matches and then have your fill. Snapmap could be cool, but right now the top rated creations are mediocre at best.
Worth buying if you're ok with the fact that you're probably gonna get 20-30 hours out of it. In my mind, this is a quality of quantity scenario since I just had so much damn fun playing this game. I'll take 10 hours of Doom over 40 hours of crappy sidequests and audio logs any day.
