Since I haven't written a new blog in a little while and since I don't know what to say other than I also needed to get the bearrings of my front-passenger side wheel on my car (yay, more money to spend on the car), I decided I could post up some small, stupid bugs I came across in Silent Hill: Origins while playing yesterday night. I warn you though, they are pretty apparent bugs, but hey, when you become a tester, let me tell you that you will never play a game the same way that you did before lol. You simply notice every single thing, however small it can be and useless it can be.So yep, "BR" stands for Bug report, if you want. I just feel the urge to report stuff that I find, so as well report them in a blog lol. Sorry to any of the people who thinks this is stupid or boring, but if only you knew..
One of them happened only once, but for those who have played, they know that when you open the map of the area, it does that lil' paper sound and shows you the floor you're on. You can change floors afterwards and stuff, but only after the map has already poped up on screen. Well out of nowhere, for whichever reason that is yet to be disclosed, the sound echoed twice at the same time when I opened up my map and it took me to an entirely different floor than the one where I was. Now, I tried doing this alot of times afterwards, but it would never let me change before the map was completly shown on screen. Weird thing if you ask me.
Another was the total lack of collision between the enemies themselves. If they walk one towards the other, they simply walks through each other, which was quite disturbing to say. I was just standing there, flashlight turned off (yeah, better to keep it turned off in Origins unless you really want trouble), watching these two demonic nurses or whatever the hell they were wander around me as I remained unoticed, and BAM they walked right through each other. It's just a simple bug, for giving the game and the atmosphere, it was more disturbing than anything else lol.
A really minor one, which is really annoying, is the description of the items when choosing the option "examine" when hi-lighting an item in the menu. Why is it annoying? Because some letters of the description will go off screen to the right edge of the screen, which isn't really bothering for the game in overall, but just annoying when reading the descriptions.
I think I'll leave at that for today. Man, if I based my reviews off of how I test video games, they would all get horrible scores, but fortunately, I can still enjoy my games for what they are and for the fun factor, not the test factor ;p
Maybe eventually I'll come here and give you some super duper mega bug that messes everything up, or some really major stuff (much like the one I told about in MGS3 before), but for now, it hasn't happened with the games I've been playing lately.
