Gentlemen, if you're an adult and you want to freely debate and trash talk games without any annoying moderation, jump ship over to SystemWars.com -- the legendary real SystemWars.

And I strongly advise you not to write a dopey introduction post unless it's satire. It won't go well. Jump straight in.

My poor taste in games? Smhx2... Clearly you know jack about those titles I referenced to say something like that. Just like GS, you're obviously at home in the minority. Good for you.

Heavy Rain is a badly written interactive B-movie that would have a 10% or lower average at Rotten Tomatos if they had taken out the mindless QTEs and made it into an actual film. Shadow of the Collossus is a boss rush mode masquarading as a real game. And Guilty Gear is a convoluted ripoff of Street Fighter designed for emotionally stunted people who enjoy looking at sexualized cartoons.

Your poor taste is irrelevant.

You write Last of Us off as a telltale walking dead rip off yet your slam heavy rain aka the original walking dead. Movie adventure games are good when they are telltale games but not good when Sony publishes them; Your logic is flawed.

I criticized Heavy Rain for being badly written. Are you currently learning the English language, or has our public school system failed yet another child?

Cows have assured me in the past that GameSpot is definitive, and given that The Last of Us is a shameless ripoff of Telltale's The Walking Dead with goofy x-ray vision to make it more accessible to casual gamers who grew up on easy PlayStation games, I have no reason to doubt the cows or GameSpot's 8.0. If anything, I would question if they scored it much too high.

Cows have assured me in the past that GameSpot is definitive. And other sites have flopped it too like the impeccable Polygon.

Rock-City

Guilty Gear X2, arguably the greatest 2d fighting game of the last decade pulled a so so 8.0 on this very site. Heavy Rain arguably the greatest PS3 exclusive is a 8.4 /8.5 on this very site. Shadow Of The Collosus regarded as not just one of the greatest PS2 games, but one of the greatest of all time is not an AAA game here. I've been here almost 10 years and I've lost count the number of times I've scratched my head at a GS reviews and that's just three examples of many of why GS sure as hell ain't definitive.

Again, go to youtube and compare the view ratio for reviews between Gamespot and other sites. If GS opinions are so definitive and well respected, why do GS reviews barely get viewed compared to the competition? GS is low as hell... Come to think of it, isn't Tomb Raider one of those games that's AAA everywhere else except GS? smh... Truly the pulse of the gaming community...

So you only follow Gamespot? This game's AAA everywhere else.

The award doesn't mean the PS3 version is GotY. It doesn't bring down the PC or 360 version.

Twin-Blade

The awards mean it's okay to defraud consumers. Hell we'll even keep that 9 up for the PS3 version. You're still giving us a big exclusive on your next game, right?

[QUOTE="Ravensmash"]Yawn - game was good - there was a reason why it didn't get awarded GOTY on PS3.Ravensmash

Take off your dumb fanboy googles. I don't own a PS3 and Fallout 3 was my GotY back in 09. This has nothing to do about teens fighting over which console is best because their parents won't buy them all the systems. This is about a company defrauding consumers, and the press sweeping it under the rug so they don't risk losing access.

Both Beth and GameSpot and playing gamers for idiots, and you're so caught up in the dumb console war that you can't see what's right in front of your face.

I don't give a flying fuuck about the console war, and certainly not 6 years on. How the hell have they defrauded you? Have they abandoned the project? Are they refusing to do anymore patches? Heck, if you feel that strongly about it go and return your copy and claim your consumer rights. I've played a fair bit on 360 and encountered no issues, and even if I did encounter a few bugs it wouldn't detract from my enjoyment of it. PS3 has bigger issues, Bethesda are addressing them. Grow up.

How have they defrauded consumers? You're still playing dumb? They knowingly released a game that's fundamentally broken, and it either can't be fixed or it would require a major effort to fix it, and Beth has yet to even address the problem. And you can't return a new game once you open it. Stop being willfully dumb because you like the game.

Best game I've played this year. Ps3 version had it's problems at launch, they have fixed most of them since. Can't wait for Bethesda's next masterpiece.

SkyRaid

The responses in this thread show exactly why Beth and GS can get away with crap like this.

No Beth did not fix the PS3 version. It's still fundamentally broken. They fixed some minor bugs in the course of fixing minor bugs across all three platforms, but they didn't address the memory issue that's caused the PS3 version to be fundamentally broken.
