Though I didnt get to properly meet the director Danny Boyle, it was still worth it to see this film. No other film this year has so much energy and character to it, this film feels alive with energy and Boyle perfectly captures the frantic energy and life of the cities in india. The way the film goes between different times and years throughout the characters lives is done so well you would barely notice it. Ashide from a few minor cliches and mushy romance near the end, which is thankfully saved by the best end credits I have seen in years, this is the best film of the year by far for me. While others like the dark knight were certainly enjoyable in their own way, to me they are nothing compared to this one. This is Danny Boyle's best film by far, yes even better than trainspotting and 28 days later. I wish him luck this year at the Oscars, he really deserves a nomination at least.
The main reason this film works so well is that even though it is overall a story of finding a lost love, there are so many interesting moments that happen as well. Films like Atonement are so sappy and overly romantic that they start to feel cheesy. There isnt enough substance in a film like Atonement to really interest me, while Slumdog Millionare is filled with interesting stories and characters.
Overall I give it a 10 out of 10:D
