The manga tells the story of a pair known as the GetBackers, consisting of Ginji Amano and Ban Mido. The duo reside in one of the seedier areas of Shinjuku in Tokyo, and are often broke and resort to sleeping in their car. Ban and Ginji operate a freelance repossession service or dakkanya .For a fee, they will recover any lost or stolen item for a client. The two boast an "almost 100% success rate" . Their motto is: "We get back what shouldn't be gone.".

Ban Mido
Known variously as "The Man with the Evil Eye" and "The Genius of Battles", he is the "B" in the Get Backers.
Abilities
The Evil Eye is a power which allows him to make anyone he makes eye contact with watch a one minute long illusion, though it can only be used a maximum of three times per day.
Ban possesses incredible superhuman strength, which gives him a gripping force of 200 kgf in each hand.At full power, his right hand becomes a snake's jaw that can crush anything and it call Snake Bite.



Ginji Amano:
He is the "G" in the Get Backers.He's the current partner of Ban Mido and was once the fearsome "Lightning Emperor" and the leader of a gang called "The Volts" in the Infinity Fortress. He received the title "Raitei" (literally, "Lightning Emperor" or "Thunder Emperor") because of his ability to control electricity.
Abilities
when exposed to remnants of his past, he has a tendency to revert to his darker "Lightning Emperor" persona.When transformed into Raitei, Ginji glows with a brilliant light and has bolts of electricity (even orbs of plasma at times) flowing around him.
