Domo arigato, Marty-san.

I have been trying to find some ways to learn Japanese without paying a fortune on Rosetta Stone, and as luck has it, one of my friends is letting me borrow his copy of "My Japanese Coach". I know I won't necessarily master the Japanese language, but it will help me get started on studying it on my own. This way I can at least understand some of the untranslated anime I want to watch. I understand a few things about the Japanese language from watching so much subbed anime, and reading manga that has the "side notes" for words that were not translated for some reason. So far, my two favorites are Domo, meaning "Thank you" (arigoto means very much), and Baka! For those of you who want to know, Baka' translation is Idiot in english.

Here's a bit from Wikipedia (so you know it's right.) about the Japanese Honorific, San.

San, sometimes pronounced Han in the Kyoto area, is the most common honorific and is a title of respect similar to "Mr.", "Miss", "Mrs.", or "Ms." However, in addition to being used with people's names, it is also employed in a variety of other ways.

San is used in combination with workplace nouns, such that a bookseller might be addressed or referred to as honya-san ("bookstore" + san), and a butcher as nikuya-san ("butcher shop" + san).

Sanis sometimes used with company names. For example, the offices or shop of a company called Kojima Denki might be referred to as "Kojima Denki-san" by another nearby company. This may be seen on the small maps often used in phone books and business cards in Japan, where the names of surrounding companies are written using san.

Sancan also be attached to the names of animals or even inanimate objects. For example, a pet rabbit might be calledusagi-san, and fish used for cooking can be referred to assakana-san. Both uses would be considered childish (akin to "Mr. Rabbit" in English) and would be avoided in formal speech. It's also not uncommon even for married couples to refer to one another withsan.

Manga is definitely going to ruin my life. -_-

For those of you that don't know (I don't think anyone actually reads these posts, so it's basically a vent for my annoyance) I have started volunteering at the Library to get my hours the Bright Futures Scholarship to go to college. After two hours of organizing books, I decided to take a break (I'm pretty lazy, don't judge me) and browse the books I didn't put away yet. Many of the ones that I didn't put away were Naruto manga (which is WAY better than the crappy American censored show), but there were a few that I had not heard of and decided to read them. Unfortunately, I was hooked and now one of my friends is referring to me as an Otaku. It has been rightly placed, as I now have a Manga Scans site on my "Favorites" toolbar on my computer. One of the manga I enjoy reading most is Rosario + Vampire. It's not like the Twilight freak sensation vamps so shut it if you are about to say "GO TEAM EDWARD!" It's a pretty well drawn manga and the story actually has something to it besides the occasional upskirt shot.

Here's the Wikipedia page for it.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosario_%2B_Vampire#Plot

If you have ever played Disgaea, this manga feels a lot like Disgaea 3 in many ways. There are monsters every where and they are attending a high school/middle school taught by some of the most powerful monsters in the world. The humor itself is what reminds me of Disgaea the most. Disgaea has many types of humor, dark, light, happy, perverted, and it even makes fun of itself at times. Rosario + Vampire does all this and a bit more. It's definitely an interesting manga and I would recommend it to anyone that reads it. That being said I personally don't know that many people who do read manga. I think only one person I know does... Hooray for the Internet and having friends you have never met in person! :P

To the manga readers out there, this is the site I get all my scans from.

www.onemanga.com

I'm not sure if it's full of viruses or pop-ups, but it has a pretty big community and a portable version. So just to be safe I read off that site with my PSP in the portable mode as there are only about 2 viruses for it, I think. I know that the portable version will work with iPod touch, iPad, and things like that. If I had the money I would just buy all the manga but at the time, I don't and the translators aren't that bad. I was able to read at least 3 volumes of Rosario VampireSeason 2 that are not out in America yet. Yeah I read through all of the first ones in about 2 days and got through the remaining Season 2 in one. :P There's going to be more to season 2 but the writer has not wrote them yet, and then after he writes them they have to be published. So there's more time out the window and then the general public has to wait for the thing to actually be released, after that the translators of OneManga.com have to go through and put everything in English. It will take FOREVER!

So as the title of this blog entry states, my life has been ruined waiting for new volumes of manga I read to come out. I know this blog is a bit scattered when you read it but that's just how I write. So just do your best to read my nonsense!

PS: Don't group me in with creepy Lolicon guys. I actually looked that up and it's REALLY MESSED UP! Yet another thing that has scarred me forever on the Internet.

So... wishlist complete? NEVER!!!!

http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/mygames/index.html

That is my wishlist. Obviously I want to buy a lot of games and beat them senseless. I have been updating almost every day or so and there are a lot more 360 games on the list than I thought there would be. So there it is, if anyone can suggest any games for me to add feel free to do so. I might even import a game that is suggested to me if it is good enough.

Super Street Fighter IV... etc.

Well SSF4 has been out for a week or two now and I still don't have it in my collection. Along with SSf4, Pokemon Soul Silver and a few other games I want are going to become hard to acquire soon. Must get a job to pay for the games.
