Well at noon today, my steam version of Bioshock 2 unlocked. I played it for a few hours, and my university closed due to about a foot of snow falling. Sooooo after about 11 hours I completed Bioshock 2. (no spoilers at all) I can say that I enjoyed the story just as much as the original Bioshock, but Sofia Lamb wasnt nearly as cool as Andrew Ryan. Combat was much better overall, due to being able to use both guns, and Plasmids at the same time totally changes the game from the original, which hada good method, but clearly being able to use both makes the game much more fun. Rapture while not nearly as mesmerising as the original Bioshock, I still enjoyed exploring Rapture, and listening to all the audio logs, and hearing the back stories of the unique citizens of Rapture. There are alot more Plasmids available then the original, and a plethora of weapons available aswell to help you during your adventures through Rapture. I beat the game in around 11 hours on the second hardest difficulty, and for the most part I didnt feel overwhelmed. Nothing felt very cheap, but with the respawn tanks the game is still very forgiving even if you didnt plan accordingly prior to an important fight. I plan to replay the game without the tanks, and I expect the game to be much more challenging, and tense. Ive beaten It once so I will be able to stock up accordingly. Overall story was excellent, combat is leaps and bounds better then the original. Overall Id give it a solid 9.0 after my initall playthrough.
Have only played the MP for a few matches so I cant give a definitive thumbs up, but so far its fun, and after the latency calms down a bit the game looks like It has a solid MP. Nothing fancy, but hey they tried, and the Single player hasnt suffered imo.
