My 4th xbox just received the 3 RROD, so I'm shipping it out soon. As I understood it on the xbox site, if your xbox has either 3 or 4 RROD and it is less than 3 years old then you qualify for the free repair. Otherwise it's 100 bucks to fix it. I noticed that the charge dropped from $100 to $0 after I tried to do the repair thing online and selected the problem description as 3 RROD.

Is anyone else out there on their fifth xbox already? I've heard of some people being in the double digits already!

^^ you still have not got your xbox back? That's crazy man, I sent mine in on Monday (15Oct2007) and just got one back today (19Oct2007). I haven't opened the box yet (still at work, will try tonight), but I think it's a new/refurb device. Call them up and complain, you can get free stuff if you make them feel sorry for you. Say that you've lost money paying for 1 month of live, when you can't even use live. see if they can get you a free game or two, or even a free controller. This is my 3rd xbox, and hopefully the last. Mine went to the north york (celestica) site as well.
