I agree with him, but I wouldn't mind a movie or tv show that's at least set around that time period. Maybe have some vague references or nods to the game.
@CashPrizes: The game sold over a million copies on just the Wii U version. It was well received enough they took the time to port it to the 3DS and Switch.
It's been more than a decade since I last played the game, but I'm pretty sure even the first player had to connect with a Gameboy Advance if you were playing multiplayer. The reason was so you wouldn't disrupt the other players if you opened your character's status/item menu; the menu would open on the Gameboy's screen instead of the tv's screen. I wasn't sure how they were going to find a workaround for the way menus were designed to open on a different screen for local multiplayer in the original game, and I guess I have my answer. There is no workaround, so it's online multiplayer only.
Wow, honestly excited! This game was really good, and I enjoyed it immensely, but I couldn't finish it because it was always randomly freezing on my PS3 and making me lose progress. If the remaster is stable, I'll definitely pick it up.
Oh wow, I just noticed Best Buy discontinued their Gamer's Club Unlocked program, and my membership in it will be expiring in about a month.
Guess it's time to finally buy a Switch and all the games I've been planning to pick up for it! Might even pre-order a few while I still get my discount.
