All I can say is that the people saying Sony has never let them down are living in a fantasy world, and have probably never worked in the video game market either retail or production side. Sony is going to push this blu-ray like crazy and all I have to say is Mini disc or UMD any one? Mini disc being dead and UMD failing, we are back to the Beta / VHS days and Sony has a bad history with pushing stuff down ppls throats, seems the buys toss that back up and Sony takes another loss. I'll probably end up getting a PS3 not at launch that is for sure seeing how that’s twice the blu-ray has failed in Sony’s first set of systems, expect problems. And a $599 is a pretty big problem, especially with a system that is going to do battle with HD players VS Blu-ray, not worth the buy to fail for me right away at least, let this one play out and feel better u kept 600 bucks in your pocket. The best combo right now is the Wii360. This is one of those things where Sony should wait another yr for it, but they can't cus they will lose too much of the market. Also back to my original statement about the fantasy world, PS2 has had more problems then anything, I work retail for Game Stop and I literally get at least 1 ps2 a day, and I’m not exaggerating, on average it's 1 ps2 slim or large both and its completely broken. Won't read discs or turn on and a lot of these I take in are in good shape, not damage noticeable on the outside some times a tad dusty but what isn't, but the thing is just a dead brick if it can't read games and DVDs. Granted the large modle system is broken more offten then the slim, but I have counted at least 10-15 slims that have broke down and come to my one store alone. That is just one store out of game stop / eb games combined 4,000 stores. So if your system breaks only a yr after its warranty or even 2 then there seems to be a problem. Also the fact that they remade the ps2 into the slim one is a problem; you know your crap is broke if u makes a whole new redesign inside and out. Hell my employee has had 3 ps2s all which have broke down and he keeps his stuff high off the floor on a desk that he has it set up on. True that Xbox has a few problems here and there (original Xbox) but nothing like that ps2, and game cube has the best track record. But as far as the 360 true some have had a few problems, I for one have a launch one and have never had a problem with it. But it would just be silly if people seriously thought Sony products have never had a problem or let down any one, one being that PSP handheld great idea but movies are fading now, and the games are the same ones on ps2 with worse controls. The have let down people over and over mainly cus Sony is way to cocky about business and they need to be beaten a bit to come back to reality. So sit back and watch the war of the consoles but if you want some pro advice, get a fun Wii for giggles or go the Wii360 route for a full aspect of gaming, Sony will drop that ps3 price at least 100 by next Christmas and by then u will know what happened with the blu-ray vs. hd player war and plus there will be more games out to play by then. Game on my friends.
