Tell me, what were the other candidates in the category for best game based off a movie/tv show? Even if it was the Nightly News... how did the Simpsons game win???mrgab

Simpsons, Naruto, Stranghold. Considering those, I can understand the Simpson's winning. Horrible nominations this year, with mostly three per category.

[Edit]Oh, and apparently Lord of the Rings Online, but I don't seem to remember that on the air.

This year definitely sucked. Most of the big categories were snipped out from the main broadcast (Best Graphics, etc.) and instead just a bunch with very few nominees. Way too much music and time wasting.

I can't quite understand how Orange Box (granted it's a great game) won breakthrough tech. Of course there is Portal, but I don't see that really as technology so much as a concept.

No kidding. The biggest categories were all stuck into that "review" you mentioned with the winner. The only awards actually being aired have been those with few nominees. Definitely not impressed consider how well the awards started off the first two years (even the intro was more interesting).

Remember cheesecake is actually a pie, it has a crust therefore pie. Cowmanik

If people are using pizza as a reason for pie, then cheesecake (and apple crumb cake) are both cake. :P

This poll is utterly offensive to those who prefer brownies. I'm writing a letter to my congressman.sonicare

How so? We're discussing the merits of cake and pie, two factions in eternal war. Likewise, your eternal fight (brownies vs. cookies) is over there --->

Americans seem to have a different definition for Pie.

martin_f

It's more just a play on words. If we count pizza as Pie here then cheesecake better count as cake, though is more pie-like in substance (and pizza shouldn't count at all).

The only pie I can say I would love anytime is Mud Pie, since it rivals chocolate cake, but cake still wins it for me. Nothing better than ice cream, cake, and some milk. :)

Pie owns, cake is diabetes waiting to happen.

And clever move mods, bribing people with fancy emblems to get posts in your topics...

TongHua

Actually this all started during the last few hours of the Day 3 coverage of E3. The topic of having emblems was brought up, they were whipped up, and a topic was created to keep track of who would get them.

Maybe now Wikipedia will allow an article on Pie vs Cake, the tools.

have u ever heard of meat cake, i dont think so, im gonna say pie,

p00nster

Having never heard of Meat Pie before, I felt obligated to look it up. Apparently, the most popular form which I'm going to assume you are referring to is Austrailia Meat Pie, which contains minced meat and gravy inside a doughy "container." For those still unsure, in the US it's likely to be called a Pot Pie. Aside from the name, that's a stretch from typical pies. :P Let's see you put ice cream on that sucker. ;)

People are sooo unwise...Cake...What's so great about something that's mostly air? And putting frosting on it...PURE SUGAR!

Pie has content, and it's what's on the inside that counts.

JLuke360

Hey now... Twinkies are mostly air (and probably best fit under the cake category despite having filling), and as we all know, Twinkies are unstoppable and can be enjoyed in any state! http://www.twinkiesproject.com/

Bah, my postwent MIA. It's all Pie's fault!! Deceiving filling!

This is madness. No wonder humanity is where it is. Majority of it prefers cake! Don't they know that all geniuses throughout history were followers of pie!?N3MO

Dude, I firmly believe that all world wars were started because of a version of your precious Pie. I am of course referring to Cow Pies. Someone obviously stepped in such a vile substance, was made fun of, and hostilities resulted. Had Cake been in existance with its sugary goodness, we'd all have set aside our differences and lives in sugar oasis.

As inedible as Fruitcake may be, can you claim that a version of Pie is as celebrated a tradition around the holiday season? I think not.
