I'm here interviewing my Virtual Sony Executive® (or VSE®) today. The VSE® from Sony is programmed using the intellect from over 3,000 Sony executives and fanboys (which all fits conveniently on the included 16K SD card!)
Here's a transcript from the interview:
MG: So what do you have to say to all those who feel that the Wii provides a better value for their dollar than the Playstation 3?
VSE: Actually the Wii is far more expensive than the PS3.
MG: Come again? The Wii comes with a game and costs $350 dollars less than the Playstation 3.
VSE: That's what Nintendo wants you to think. But you're not seeing the whole picture. Let's break it down for you.
First, you have to pay $250 hard earned dollars for your initial investment. You open the box and notice right away that you have to buy a $30 component cable. You're up to $280 bucks!
In addition to that Nintendo deviously released AAA rated games. So gamers are going to be forced to buy "The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess" and "Rayman Raving Rabbids". That's $100 more. You're up to $380 bucks! Playstation 3 consumers will be delighted to know that the PS3 comes with the only reason to buy a PS3, "Click". That's right. We decided to not make great games for the PS3 to save consumers money.
Now let's get into controllers. Nintendo bundles "Wii Sports" with every Wii to trick the consumers into thinking they are getting a value. This really forces consumers to buy three of their $60 controllers to play Wii Sports with their friends. We encourage Sony consumers to not have friends by only making crappy one-player games to save them even more. By the way, that "value" priced Wii has now cost the consumer $560!
Now let's talk connectivity. With the Wii, consumers will have to chunk down $150 a piece to buy Nintendo DSs. In a four player game, that's a devestating $600!!! That's the cost of a Playstation 3! With the PS3, you'll be glad to hear that you can use the PSPs that you already own. Let's check the score so far: Wii: $1160 PS3: $600.
Finally, let's look at the most devastating aspect of the Wii. Their "revolutionary" motion control is designed to destroy TVs. That's right. You'll have to buy a brand new $3200 Sony television set to replace the one that your Wii destroyed. Here at Sony, we removed irritating features like rumble to prevent gamers from getting startled and hurling their controller. Final cost of the Wii: $4360. Final cost of the PS3: $600.
As you can see, the with all of the hidden costs, the Wii is the most expensive console of all time. In addition to that, you don't get the cool factor, the funky fresh logo, or the hot Sony groupies that can only come with a Sony PS3. Now that's 1337.
MG: So no games + no fun = great value?
VSE: Exactly. Plus, the PS3 is very sellable on eBay. Some even sell for billions! If you buy a Wii, you might be tempted to keep it for your self and be out $4360.
MG: Alrighty, you've heard it first here. Go buy a PS3 and save huge!
