My girlfriend definitely has a gothic mentality at times, but I think that you all have a very skewed view of what being gothic is all about. Those pictures aren't of goths. Those are confused young children looking to establish their own identity for a sense of self-satisfaction. Being gothic is more about taking the time to see the darkness in life while still holding on to what's beautiful. They do kind of form their own little groups, but I think that just helps them to communicate better with those who understand the way they see the world.

It has taken a long time for me to convince my girlfriend that the world isn't just a dark place and she's not as alone as she thinks. It's all been worth it. Now she sees the world for what it really is, but she's also happy all the time.
