@D440 How much of our equipment is just leased now or free because we have to sign a contract for a service.... Modems, Cable Boxes, Cell Phones, ect They don't want you to own anything anymore because they make more money in the contract, fees and leases.
I agree, M$ did do the right thing with their 3 year warranty extension so that was nice they backed their fans there. What amazes me is it never really seemed to hurt their sales, I guess by the time it started to appear, people were already invested in it
@betatester I wouldn't doubt it lol. What's funny is I have a few 360 friends that have each gone through 3 xbox's because of the RROD... I wonder how much that has driven M$'s sales figures... 70 million consuls sold but only 20 million users. (those aren't hard number so don't quote me on that) ;-)
I'm probably considered a PS3 fanboy. When the 2 consuls came out I had a decision to make and went with the best choice for me due to the fact the PS3 had free internet, built-in wifi and bluray. Seems that from the beginning M$ has been bullying it's costumer base by not offering these features and releasing defective hardware time after time with the RROD. So I'm not surprised in the least to hear about this new way they're going to screw over their fans. I'm sure M$ is thinking "they bought the 360, they'll buy the 720!"
That being said I really hope M$ doesn't go through with this as it'll most likely give Sony the majority of the market, and everyone knows competition is what drives a better product. Cheers!
