Hey, can anybody tell me when Killzone 2 is going to be released? According to Best Buy, it's next Friday (the 15th), but a bunch of people have been saying its much later, and there hasn't really been any promoting of it yet.
Thanks.

thanks dude. i'll prob. go vista then.
so i'll be fine with a bunch of fans and decent heatsinks (they come stock on the CPU and GPU, right?)
also...what's a good case for cooling? and how much wattage do i really need in my PSU?
this rig seems the norm now: overclocking on a GeForce 8800, Core 2 Duo, and 2 gigs of RAM on the P35. Not only does it seem like the general choice of most gamers, but almost every game's reccommended settings read like it.
here's what i'm thinking...how do you think it'll work for gaming, writing games and making graphics for them, and running recording software?
GPU: EVGA nVidia 8800GTS Superclocked (or 7950 GT)
Memory: 2gb of Crucial RAM (DDR2 800)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz (FSB of 1333)
Motherboard: GIBABYTE P35
Sound Card: Creative (not sure which model yet: xtreme gamer or xtreme music?)
Case: Thermaltake w/ 5x120mm fans OR any cheaper case with liquid cooling
PSU: Zalman 500w
OS: XP (Vista sucks for games, right?)
i based this on the reccommended settings for Crysis...so with some overclocking on the video card, processor and memory, i should be able to hit pretty much max settings on games like Crysis, Gears of War, and BioShock, right?
thanks..and any edits are appreciated.
and btw...can I use tons of fans and a cooling compound and be fine overclocking, or is water cooling absolutely necessary?
and i really have no clue what to get for a case....GUIDE ME!!!! (please, lol)
well, thanks in advance guys.
of course. you can't have an excellent rig without a killer sound card. just make sure you have the speakers to make sure you're actually using the capabilities of the soundcard.
well...I've decided that building a desktop is impractical for me since the lack of portability completely screw me over if I want to be able to record music both at home and live through the house board. So I'm looking at notebooks now...
I'll use it for music, programming, some photo, andsome gaming.
Does the VAIO work for this? (Was also considering the MacBook but that tends to be disliked by the gaming/high-performance computer community)
If not, any other reccomendations? I'm pretty sure I like the spec's of the one i customized though (Intel core 2 duo 2.4, NVIDIA GeForce graphics card, 2gb memory)
and one quick question (sounds potentially very stupid though): can one OC on a laptop?
Future rig:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 +5200
EVGA 8800GT Superclocked
Corsair XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800
ASUS M2N32 Deluxe MoBo.
As for the harddrive, I plan on keeping my old 80Gb SATA for a while.
neonvzla
i plan on building something similar in the future (but not the intense graphics card, and a slightly faster processor).
just wondering: why did you go for AMD over Intel?
that is an utterly STUPID idea to include anything for sound in a graphics card. that will turn me off from them forever....what if you want your own, high-quality sound card? Instead, you'll be paying more for a vid. card for that dumbed-down sound thing in the video card, which will also be taking away from said video card. This just seems like a terrible idea to me. Why would they possibly do that?
[QUOTE="makaveli73"]Xbox 360's launch this holidays was crazy. So many good games in such a short amoutn of time. PS3 had NO big holiday launches that were not multiplat. Uncharted is tomb raider male version and it is nothing to brag about. it got a flopping 8.0
Xbox 360 has mass effect bioschock and halo 3 to carry it this holiday season. (bioshock is on pc but PS3 still can't play it)
EmperorSupreme
X360 sold 10 million units it's first year with no competition. With competition from Sony and Nintendo X360 can't even sell 5 million units for 2007. Meanwhile PS3 is over 6 million and Wii is over 14 million for the year worldwide. You can do your own math and see who is really in trouble.
exactly.
too few people in SW use their brains.
