@sladakrobot: im so shocked that people loved the Avowed trailer. To me it was severely disappointing. Everything else was good or okay, but Avowed has me feeling like an alien in this gaming world
@Barighm: thanks for the feedback. I like your acumen on this topic, im not sure i could trust them at all, considering their recent history. All gameplay was also very curated and even only featured the character on walking speed, which reminds me of how CDPR showed Cyberpunk on older consoles with gameplay of a car driving very slowly. A bit strange to me, thats all. Heres hoping they can actually deliver. Happy Tuesday!
@Barighm: hi Barighm, you’ve been around for a while and you always express your sincere opinions on gaming matters. So im honestly curious and wanna ask, what did you think about the Starfield showcase? I for one am a bit worried. All they showed was kinda good, but the question in my mind always lingered: will this be "fun"? It’s given me a lot of vanilla NMS vibes, and im just sincerely worried. I hope the game does end up being incredible, but for now i still need a bit more convincing. Heres hoping your perspective helps me fall in love with the game
@cboye18: i was put off a bit as well. I thought Fable was more than just a generic take on a fantasy trope (this case being the giant’s house setting). Im sure they have a lot more to show, and the game does indeed look really great, nice art direction, good graphics. Not a fan of real life actors taking the spotlight (only exception being maybe Keanu), but let’s give them the chance they need. They can surely mesmerise us like they did many years ago
@rewgle: i see your point, and i agree with the situation at ActBliz. If the deal falls, i could even bet a group like Embracer could make an even higher bid (with mergers and acquisitions normally theres always a pissing contest), but that wont save them from the shackels they’ve chained their IPs to. Could also be, that Bobby leaves for real if the deal falls, so that a new direction could make new exciting changes. WoW2 on phones? Why not. Heck, bring a whole game launcher to phones and tvs too.
All in all, i do fully agree with MS taking more than they can handle. I dont see how their mgmt of ActBliz will make things better. After Halo Infinite and Redfall, MS hasn’t shown any skill when mastering big projects, any churning huge mergers wouldnt change that.
Heres hoping they finally release the Xboy, best april fools joke (together with the apple gpod, that one was wild too haha)
@imajinn: precisely, no entity has won an appeal against them, and the EU approving it is just more wood to the fire, due to Brexit and beyond. Im not against the idea of it not being dead btw, dont get me wrong. Still, im calling it dead with the hopes that MS can concentrate on something maybe more special (Jade Empire 2 :D). I miss the amazing competition from the Xbox and 360 days, and i hope those days return somehow
EDIT: i would advise not getting the hopes up when seeing other countries approve the deal. Until the CMA situation is reversed, all other approvals are simply a mirage. Everything is running on this appeal, maybe MS can make history and pull this through. That would turn things around in a very exciting way
