@deeveeus: I see your point. Taste can serve as a barrier. For example, I totally disagree with SM Odyssey getting near perfect scores across the board. I wouldnt give that game more than a 6 or 7 at best. However, I dont usually play Mario and always seek story-driven games and rpgs. So in this case I can count myself as an exception. Though my feelings for the game never change, I see that the vast majority of the gaming world seems to love it, so in the end it is simply ''not my type''.
An even broader example is RDR2. I love that game, I just dont love playing it. RDR2 was to me very very boring and slow, though admirably admirable in its attention to detail. It was a very strange experience because I could appreciate the decisions and design choices of the game whilst actually disliking its pacing every step of the way. In this case, i would ''accept'' the 9 because it ''deserves'' it, though in reality to me it is an 8.
@deviltaz35: not true imo, she explains the whys and whats of her approach, and the other GS employee actually agrees with her in many ways (a fact no one mentions in the comments). I respect your opinion, but I hardly disagree. Looking forward to your feedback though.
@analgrin: I saw the review before having read your comment, and I have to say this is spot on. I was also taken aback by the same things the SkillUp review mentioned. And that review being almost an hour long, it goes well into detail.
I believe you have a point, with the game being unbalanced and the system being a tad broken.
EDIT: same here with regards to the Witcher games.
People shoehorning SJW topics just as an excuse to justify their illogical disagreement with one review of a game they haven't even played yet, whilst also suggesting near perfect scores without ever touching the game itself and fuelled purely through immense hype, should just.....chill.
