@Abberon: To each their own. Personally, WRPG are just plain terrible in terms of story. It is true that they're mostly based on gathering resources and scavenging and leveling with ugly scenes, terrible dialogue and poor character implementation. Honeslt who cares about Skyrim's hero? How is s/he a well developed character? How is Fallout 4 a good story? Or 3?
Geralt is more shallow than a Kramer stand-up.
HOWEVER, the <game> within is so amazing that it clearly doesnt matter.
Still, i choolse Tidus over Geralt a trillion times, the <character> not the game as a whole.
WRPG have standardized open world desing and ability development, but, IMO, JRPGs are miles ahead in terms of caring for their characters.
Like SQUARE themselves have said:
WRPGs place you in your perspective (you create the character and its abilities), whereas JRPGs place you in the character's perspective (which explains why, in most cases, you're unable to create or change character portrayal)
first up vote in my life. never new the option existed and I've been using this site for 15 years...i upvoted cuz honestly it would be cool to have a buggy in NMS. The game apparently is very upgradable so i hope they manage to deliver on their promises, though it was horrible that they didn't deliver in the first place.
