hahahahaha "all that means is that everyone on the other team will surrender"...I'm in France right now and I showed that to my French roomies and they are pissed.
I know what MLG is, I was curious how the rules of games are changed for competition. I wanted to try these gameplay styles on my own console and see what I thought etc.
"pretty solid lol, since we discussed these ideas before. Also add the ability to increase the axis sentivties, like X and Y axis, up and down is far to slow in the game. Needs to be MLG game type, and ranged weapons need to be more powerful."
This was posted in a GOW2 thread discussing problems with Gears 2 multiplayer games/options. My question is what exactly is MLG gaming style? In COD4 and Halo 3, what would be different than regular Live matchmaking?
I have spent a month or so researching and shopping 360's (which is how I found gamespot.com and this forum, both of which I am very impressed with so keep up the good work!) and I have narrowed it down to two suppliers to make my purchase. Costco and Dell.com each have their pros and cons and I wanted to lay them out here and see if I could get some wise feedback to help my decision. I am going with a Pro 60 gig.
Costco
Currently Costco is selling a bundle that includes a Holiday version of the Pro with an extra controller, plug and charge kit, and the three free kid's games for $350, #375 total with tax. The Holiday Pro is very unlikely to be a Jasper. Costco appeals to me because I am dealing with a company that is famous for a very forgiving return policy (to reduce arguments over the return policy, I have already talked to them and it's legit. Anything happens, I bring it in and swap.)
Dell.com
Currently running a 20% off promotion on consoles, so I can get a standard Pro 60 gig console (non-bundle) with all the basic components listed at $300, on sale for $240 with the discount, and out the door total for $257 with tax. This is appealing because there is a good chance that this is a new production model that will include the Jasper chip set and it's a great deal.
So, purchasing at Costco will cost an extra $118, and I feel that although I am getting another controller and a plug and charge kit, I'm only drawn because of the hassle free return policy that they offer. Considering 360's past with technical issues, this sounds like a good way to play the same day if anything would happen. I like Dell because of the HUGE discount overall, and the fact that there's a strong chance I will be receiving a Jasper Pro. Is $118 worth another controller and an insurance plan? I don't know, any advice/concerns out there? Thanks.
Costco was advertising $29.99 subscriptions last week on their website (Costco.com)
It seems they are back to the $39.99 price currently, but if there is a store nearby check it out. I know most stores were shipped ten discounted tickets.
