Uhm.... I actually have no clue what this game is about. I saw a screen shot once.

Nothing

It's about Fables that come over from their stories into the real world. You play as Bigby Wolf aka the big bad wolf and the sheriff over the fables as they try to blend into society. Things take a sinister turn when one of the fables is murdered.

It really depends on what you want, if you're looking for fiction, anything by Terry Pratchet or Christopher Moore are pretty easy reads. If you want a longer story you could check out some of Henry Fieldings satires, but they're from the 1700's so they might not be what you want. Lisa Lutz is another, she does detective series called the Spellman's. You might want to check out Kinky Friedman if you're looking for someone who throws political correctness out the window. There is also Carl Hiaasen who does environmentalist satire. Kurt Vonnegut Jr, wrote some good stuff, though it his stuff isn't simple or easy. Chuck Palahniuk does write satire though most of it is buried pretty deep into his books, he's famous for Fight Club.

Non fiction is a little hit and miss. Some people like David Sedaris who can be pretty easy to get into. Hunter S. Thompson, though there is debate about how much of his work is real. Dave Barry is one of the more famous non-fiction humorist. Bill Bryson is another humorist whose early work is pretty easy to get into, his newer stuff not so much.

Its a pity there's a lot of confusion surrounding this game, would probably be doing alot better if it weren't.

The Kickstarter page for it is straightforward enough. What is causing any confusion?

There is some confusion as to how much involvement Yasumi Matsuno will actually have. His twitter account said he won't be that involved unless there was a lot of kickstarter money.

Telltale Borderlands game could be interesting, I'm not sure though, but an interesting way to start the show.

The only game I'm really interested in is Broken Age, most of the other stuff doesn't seem to interest me too much.

Well it seems you already made up your mind and probably won't be convinced by someone who does like the series. But the fact that it hasn't ended shouldn't really matter. It was pointed out to me the other day that Superman, Batman and Spiderman have been running for much longer and people still happily read those. So length should not be an issue.

I dislike number systems to review things. It makes far too many people skip the written portion of a review just to see a score and more often then not they don't go beyond that.

I'd like to think I'm at least decent. I'm in an MFA program for writing, so I'd have to be okay at it, but you never know, perhaps I am the worst writer in the history of mankind, I wouldn't put it past me.
