Modern Warfare 3 -- Elite Subscription -- C'mon, are you serious?

Okay, so we already pay approximately $60/year for Xbox Live Gold, or approximately $50/year for Playstation Plus. Or, we use the PS3's free, but less content-heavy network service. But, C'mon, give me a break. On top of buying Modern Warfare 3, we have to pay for another subscription, Elite, if we want to get the most out of this experience! The publisher/company releases one of these Call of Duty games at least once a year ... and it needs to make even more profit out of us? It could be argued we are the "suckers" for buying it all up, but hey, don't charge the consumer more in addition to actually buying your product. Are you so out of ideas, and so close to bleeding this series dry, that you really have to do this? Sure, I'll suck it up and buy the game ... I love the series. But pay for your Elite subscription? Not a chance. And will I miss the content of your exclusive "Elite" service? With games like the Bad Company: Battlefield franchise out there, the answer is a definitive "no." For years, a big Call of Duty fan. Recently, just realized how good some of the competition is, too. But to pay more and more for something I already purchased -- get out of here! What a slap in the face! It's already bad enough companies are releasing more and more for-purchase content to games we have already purchased at the store. But, to actually begin to start charging us for playing them, too? Do they think I'm actually going to get sucked into that? Not a chance. Sure, the game will be mine. But, you can keep your elite "Elite" service for someone else!
