I am not suprised. Smartphones are a better option for gaming than a PS Vita because the Vita is too expensive. If the Vita were priced at $150.00 or less then I think more people would buy it.
Eventually, I think smartphones will eliminate game consoles. I expect the Xbox720, Wii U and PS 4 to sell decently. Those console will not sell as well as previous consoles because of smartphones. Fewer game companies will be able to sell $60.00 video game on next-generation consoles because of competition. In 1992, Babbages had just as many GameBoy games as they had SNES games. The SNES games had better gameplay, graphics and sound. They also cost more money too. Most people did not own a Gameboy, but most americans will own a smartphone. Eventually, this will make it extremely difficult for game companies to charge $60.00 for a game. Eventually, most casual gamers will view gaming consoles the way they viewed the Neo-Geo AES.
