No story mode, no $60. I'll wait until it's closer to $20.
This is the first KoF in forever; this should be packed with features and story, not focused on online garbage. I love the series, but I'm not paying AAA prices for a mediocre fighter with crappy AI.
Fighting games need to have more single player content in them to feel like they're worth the money. A story mode would make a game have more content in it.
The online part of the game is behind a paywall if you're using a current generation console. At least the PC versions of fighting games don't have a paywall at all because that's how PC gaming is.
@Blk_Mage_Ctype: Capcom has interesting plans from their presentation. It's nice to know that they're planning on releasing 2 Major titles this fiscal year. They have a lot of neglected IPs. This article has more info.
According to the presentation, Capcom is focusing on releasing titles for major IPs as well as for dormant IPs and remakes. Everything considered, there’s a good chance that one of the two major titles will be the Resident Evil 2 remake, which has yet to be shown, and the other the game currently in development by Hideaki Itsuno, director of the Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma series.
