Knock out from Punch-Out!!

Little Mac

W-O-W.

I remember my brother telling me how he loved played this game on the NES when he was younger. When I heard Punch-Out!! was coming out, I was excited. Sure, I had some expectations for it too. You may ask, 'Did this game exceed your expectations?'

Yes it did. By a lot.

It's a simple game to get into; equip the Nunchuk and the Wii mote, click on a profile to start your game, and you're ready to play. You can choose from Career--facing off with boxers beginning at the Minor League. This, of course, is the funnest. You get to learn more about the boxers, some funny cutscenes, and the fight begins. And Exhibition mode; practicing with boxers that you have or are fighting.

Of course, the reason this game is so great is not only behind it's multiple playing scenarios. Here's what I thought made the game really awesome:

The Gameplay: it's simple and fun. It really makes you feel like you're Little Mac, battling your way through the leagues. A few punches with the Nunchuk and Wii mote, and the opponent is almost down for the count. However, if it was that simple it wouldn't be fun. There are buttons to be pressed, and the opponents do get stronger. There is a challenge in some opponents--in how they fight, their movements and such.

Animation/Graphics: whether your fighting in the ring or on the options screen, the animations are amazing. I love it when you're fighting and you get a TKO (Triple Knock Out) and there's a great animation in how the opponent gets a good punch in the face and falls. The graphics aregreat as well, especially the colours.

Controls: once again, very simple. Sometimes it wears you out after tossing your arms forwards for a number of hours, but just think of it as the Wii Fit, except funner. I would say that after half an hour of playing, you've got the controls down.

Overall, this game is simply awesome. I just stopped playing it for a moment, and I feel happy with myself. If you feel bored or tired, this game will definately get you hyped up. How can you walk away from this game and not love Little Mac? This game makes him go down in my favourite characters listing.

Near perfect for me, but it all comes down to your own preferance of video games. I personally love RPGs, action/adventure/fantasy, etc. (especially the Zelda series) and I thought Punch-Out!! would be a nice break from that. It wasn't a nice break, it was amazing. Worth your money for sure.

No More Heroes 1 and 2 = Badass

Travis Touchdown

I didn't think much of the games until someone recommended it to me, and when I did start playing I wasn't able to stop. I haven't played a Wii game before that had so much action and got me really involved with the game, and during some occasions the storyline as well. It's all about Travis Touchdown being an assassin and making it to the top of the rankings by killing other assassins. It does sound interesting, have to admit that much, but when you play it you really see how awesome it is. Some of the assassins are ridiculous though... But that's all part of the fun in the game, which makes it even better. The graphics are pretty good, and the art is different from what's usually seen in the Wii, but attractive nonetheless. Travis Touchdown is by far, one of the most badass characters to have come to the Wii. The fact that there's so much you can customize him with is really great, and the choice of beam katanas is also extraodinary, considering the power some of them have. Travis Touchdown's default outfit in the second game, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle is my favourite though...

However my favourite part about the game(s) is the saving point, which is a toilet. Legit genius, right there, can't get any better than that. Oh, and his cat, Jeane. The minigames you have to play to earn money is also pretty fun. Usually any activity where you have to earn money in a game is tedious, but in this case it's not that bad. There's just so much fun you can have with this game, whether it's from exercising and massaging your cat, to kicking some serious ass, you'll always have a reason to keep playing.

Haven't made a blog in a long time, and since I've been playing this game for almost three days straight I thought it would be appropriate to write about, so here's a little summary about it. To anyone who owns a Wii and loves action games, this is definitely for you.

It's been a while...

Wow, it's been almost three years since I was last active on here. It feels a little strange to come backafter so long, yet nostalgic at the same time. Can't say that I'm back to be very active though--last year of high school so I need to focus and hit the books pretty hard.

...With that said I do need some time to myself so I'm bad on the video games habit. I've really gotten into PC games which is completely different from what I'm used to. Nevertheless I still have my hardcore Nintendo fan inside of me

So now I'll have a lot of things to update here and there... It feels good to be back :)
