Apple iPhone 5 Features & Release Date

As the 5th generation of the iPhone is on the verge of being released, and with all the speculations spreading on the Internet about the iPhone 5, people are anticipating and desperately waiting for the launch of the smartphone. Many fans and current Apple iPhone consumers are wondering what groundbreaking features Apple will add to the new iPhone 5.

UPDATE: It is official, it is a refreshed iPhone 4, called the iPhone 4S – read about it here, but we will keep updating this post with new iPhone 5 features and news, so this is the latest we know about the iPhone 5:

This article summarizes the various features and specifications that are expected to sport the device.

iPhone 5 Features

Although Apple does not reveal the exact specifications and features until the device is officially unveiled, we could dictate some of the main features that are expected. However, rumor of the new iPhone 5 features, in terms of both hardware and software upgrades, will definitely entice any smartphone buyer.

The upcoming phone is expected to sport the Apple's latest and greatest A5 processor chip, iCloud service, higher-resolution camera, and a 4-inch screen size. Here are some of the most anticipated iPhone 5 features:

iOS 5

Apple announced iOS 5.0 and its features during the WWDC 2011 keynote address on June 6, 2011. The user interface is based on the concept of direct manipulation, using multi-touch gestures. It is expected to come with more than 200 new features that will include improved Notification System, News Stand and iMessage.

iMessage is an application that is developed to compete with Blackberry Messenger. The app will allow iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad users to communicate (much like a chat service) with each other. The iMessage feature has been integrated into the SMS/MMS application used originally on the iPhone models.

iCloud

The iPhone5 is expected to have the iCloud service.

Apple's iPhone 5 is expected to feature the new iCloud service for wireless remote access of music from all computers and mobile devices.

The iPhone5 will automatically sync with the iCloud which will allow users to store photos, apps, calendars and documents without having them to store in the phone's memory. Apple is also looking to tie up with top music label companies to license songs for the iCloud service.

However, rumours state that Apple might release a low-cost "iCloud iPhone" alongside the iPhone 5. It could be named the "iPhone Mini"

"The iPhone Mini (or iPhone Nano, or whatever) could have significantly less storage than a typical iPhone. Most likely 8 gigabytes of storage – the same as the lowest end iPhones right now. Apple won't prevent users from storing their own content, because that would be crazy. But since it has a small amount of memory, Apple will likely push the ability to stream media via MobileMe as well."

A5 Processor to power the iPhone5Apple A5 Processor to power iPhone 5

iPhone 5 will house the A5 as the main processor, which technically is the same chip that currently powers the iPad 2. The A5 contains a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU with NEON SIMD accelerator and a dual core PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU, which means that the iPhone5 can do twice the work at once. The processor speed will be somewhere between 1.2 to 1.5 GHz, with probably a 1GB RAM.

The processor upgrade is done not just to increase the processing speed of the phone, but also to compete with the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S II.

The A5 chip might effectively increase the power use, however, it is said that the chip has "got a dynamic power management", which can lower the [speed] depending on the workload, and thus efficiently make use of the power.

iPhone 5 to Sport a Better Camera

The iPhone 4 sports a 5 megapixel camera, so I'm expecting that the iPhone 5 will have a rear-facing 8MP dual-LED flash camera. However, this isn't really "awesome", since most of the high-end Android smartphones come with an 8MP camera. Along with that, the iPhone 5 is expected to have a front-facing camera for video chatting.
iPhone FeaturesAccording to sources, Apple has filed several patent applications relating to 3D picture capturing to the US Patent and Trademark Office later in March. This indicates that the iPhone 5 might feature a 3D camera. The filing indicates that the device will be capable of capturing, processing and rendering 3D images with dual-camera hardware.

Another interesting feature is that the iPhone 5 will be capable of taking pictures in Panorama. It will work similarly to the '360 Panorama' application in the App Store. It will let you take pictures in a sequence as you move the camera from one side to another, which in the end will effortlessly stitch the images together to create a panorama.

Additionally, if Apple really wants to keep up with the competition to Android, then it might consider improving upon the video resolution to a full 1080p HD recording. Currently iPhone 4 has a 720p video capture at 30 frames per second.

Display and Resolution

There hasn't been a better screen resolution since the release of the iPhone 4. Currently the iPhone 4 has a 3.5 inches screen size, and sources indicate that Apple might stay locked with the current size. But a few other sources say that Apple is planning to increase the screen size to 4-inch with higher screen resolution. I feel that Apple could compromise at 3.7-inch or 3.75-inch.

However, the iPhone 5 could be slightly wider and thinner. The dimensions are calculated to be: 4.33″ x 2.36″ and .27″ thickness at the top and .21″ at the bottom, whereas the dimensions of iPhone 4 are: 4.5″ x 2.31″ x .37″

Other iPhone5 Features

Here are some of the other features that we can expect from the iPhone 5:

(*) According the AT&T documents leaked by LulzSec, the Apple iPhone 5 will offer 4G and will be LTE (Long Term Evolution) network compatible. LTE is a project of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), and is the latest standard in the mobile network technology.

(**) According to International Business Times, it is rumoured that the iPhone 5 will feature a new SIM-less design with 2 to 3 internal antennas for CDMA and GSM compatibility, which will make it a "worldphone".

The above mentioned features are some of the improvements that we can expect from Apple. However, we cannot assure you that they can be true, but most of the upgrades are more likely to be utilized.

Apple definitely wants to fight back against Android smartphone makers like HTC and Samsung, and perhaps it is why the new iPhone 5 will host some of the outstanding features.

iPhone 5 Launch Date

Apple follows a tradition to launch new devices in their summer Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), but that didn't happen this year.

However, BGR reported that an AT&T Vice President has confirmed to several employees that the iPhone 5 that boasts a stronger chip for processing data and a more advanced camera is scheduled to be launched in early October. Additionally, the VP communicated the following to a group of managers: "Expect things to get really, really busy in the next 35-50 days, so prepare your teams accordingly."

We can expect the announcement of the iPhone 5 in a late September event along with a release date set for early October.

The iPhone 4 has proven to be one of the most successful smartphones of all time with selling over 1.7 million devices in just three days of availability, and we are expecting that the iPhone 5 will certainly replicate this success, and one thing is for sure – the sales of iPhone 5 will definitely boom and we can expect a huge number of people lined up at Apple stores when the device is available for sale.

Top 10 Scariest games of all time!

look back at some of the scariest games ever made. I find classics are usually more well thought out than the new scary games. The only thing I can really say better about the new releases are better graphics but otherwise, classics have always been able to give me the chills. Below is a list of the 10 scariest game that I've played.

10. Silent Hill 2-PlayStation 2, Xbox, PC

Silent Hill 2 is only a loose sequel to the 1999′s critically praised survival horror game. It has a similar town settings from its original. But new Protagonist and cast of characters made me play this game and finish it. This game offers 4 unique ending(cool). And upon playing this game again and again with different level of difficulty of course, you will be able to find hidden objects as well as special weapons such as the chain saw, which severs enemies completely in half. Silent Hill 2 suffers a bit from being too close to its predecessor in terms of gameplay, but it does manage to scare up enough dread to be a worthy game for fans of the genre.

9. Alone in the Dark-PC

This game is one of the oldest Survival Horror game out there just following the 1989 Sweet Home by Capcom.

Players are given the option of choosing between a male or female character (Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood), and are then trapped inside the haunted mansion of Derceto after dark. From there you are to solve puzzles or hell you can choose to fight slave zombies, giant bipedal rat-like creatures along the way. The story is great, this is the kind of game you want to try to finish until you solve the mystery.

Scariest moment : As soon as the game starts. You got no weapons, bare hands to fight creatures. Yikes!

8. System Shock 2-PC

This game debuted summer 1999, to scare people. Utterly immersive in its use of character attachment and amnesiac story-telling, it is a game that will honestly give you the sweats. This game is very atmospheric from the beginning. The character models is just disgusting making you want to shoot them with what ever weapon you have. The sound also adds up, being very disturbing that is.

Scariest moment : Similar scenes from past movies and novels scares me. Restarting a generator anyone?

7. Condemned "Criminal Origins"-PC

This game is inspired by the movies such as Silence of the Lambs and Se7en. Released by Sega on April 11, 2006 Condemned offers new scary tactics. No zombies and Mansion, only blood squirting heads.

You take the role of Ethan Thomas, a SCU agent (Serial Crime Unit investigator that uses forensic tools) framed for a double cop murder who becomes trapped in the condemned sections of a fictional American city named "Metro City" while hunting a serial killer. Thomas' investigation is further complicated by a mysterious phenomenon that is transforming the transient population of these areas into insane, violent psychotics. As Thomas, the player investigates crime scenes using forensic tools and techniques, while fighting off the constant assaults by "the influenced" in the hopes of catching the serial killer and escaping alive, and prove that he is innocent to the police.

You have to be fast killing criminals as the bullets are very hard to find ingame.

6. Undying-PC

The game begins in 1923, after World War I veteran Patrick Galloway receives an urgent letter from his friend Jeremiah Covenant. Covenant, well aware of Galloway's reputation for dealing with occult matters, is in failing health and raves about a curse that has destroyed his entire family. Galloway travels to the Covenant estate on the coast of Ireland to visit his friend, who relates an outlandish tale of supernatural terrors.

The curse then killed all Jeremiah's family and turned them into monsters in which you have to get through later ingame. From there you get spooky places, cult books and gruesome monsters to deal with. Have i mentioned you also get to use spells ingame? Not only to damage monsters but also use to solve some puzzles to progress.

5. F.E.A.R-PC

F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon was released on October 17, 2005. A horror themed first-person shooter developed by Monolith Productions and published by Vivendi. This game is well packed with action, bloody effects and a unique feature just like in Matrix and Max Payne in which you can slow down time to dodge bullets. Cool huh.

The atmosphere of this game is based on another Japanese horror movies. Another ghostly little girl which will hunt you down througout the game. Even the sounds are from Japanese themes. The sequel for this game will be released soon this year so watch out…

4. Doom 3-PC, Xbox

Doom 3 made a hit on its August 2004 release. With 3.5million copies sold, it is the most successful game by the developer(Id Software) to date. Doom 3 is a major reboot from older doom video game series, disregarding the older dooms story line and making this doom probably the best ever.

Doom 3's more story-centered approach, set on Mars with the primary objective is to stop Demons and Monsters to wreak havoc to Earth. This game offers high detailed environment, nicely modeled monsters and demons and realistic sound effects. Gotta love this game…

3. Fatal Frame 2 Crimson Butterfly-Playstation 2, Xbox

Fatal Frame 2 has a very original story line. Twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura are visiting the spot where they used to play as children. Mayu follows a mysterious crimson butterfly deep into the woods. Mio, concerned for her twin, follows, and the two girls are led to a village shrouded in fog. While it seems abandoned, the twins soon realize that the tortured souls of the dead roam, forever reliving the day of the failed ceremony that trapped them in this state.

No Guns, No Spooky Mansion, No zombies. You main weapon is your camera, that's right. A camera in which you can exorcise ghost. From there you collect different kinds of films (as your ammo) and solve the mystery throughout the village. If you love Japanese Horror movies then i suggest you spend time playing this game.

2. Silent Hill 1-Playstation

Silent hill was the closest to ever bump on RE series but what made this game unique in someway is the goosebumps it gives you without any zombies chasing after you. Don't turn the lights off and make sure the radio is on when you play this game alone. The only thing I didn't like about this game is the other ending (" remember the Alien ending?"). Aliens are not scary ingame you know!! This is the best Silent Hill of all time. Silent Hill 2 came very close imho… (spookiest light effect and environment)

Scariest moment : The time when the city turn's into a bloody mess scares me. The DING DONG sound made by the clocktower.

1. Resident Evil 1-PC, Playstation 2

First Release in 1996 on PS1, Capcom made one of its trademark on making this best. From its original window breaking zombies , ceiling crawling lurkers and time consuming puzzles, who would not remember? Will Resident Evil 5 break its great grandfather? The graphics probably would for sure.

Scariest moment : Opening newly unlocked doors are one of the scariest in this. You just cant expect what's inside next. Capcom made a good job on those opening door effects, I just love the black surrounding and squeaky sound it has.

Comments are welcome

IPad 3

What is in store for IPad 3?

The newest rumors surrounding the iPad 3 indicate that Apple is planning on releasing two different models in 2012. It is unknown whether or not Apple plans on using the A6 processor with the iPad 3. It has also been speculated that Apple might push back the release of the iPad 3 to the second quarter of 2012 so that Apple has enough time to add a retina display as well.

Some tech insiders seem to think that Apple will release a first version of the newest iPad during the spring months like normal. Some feel it will be called the iPad 2S. These people then thing the "true iPad 3" will be released later in the year – perhaps in the late summer or earlier fall months.

There is some evidence to support the case for two different iPad models. A little while back Digitimes reported that the iPad 3 was headed into production and was headed for a March release. However, things point to a slightly upgraded iPad 2, instead of a brand-new, unique, iPad 3.

Apple doesn't seem to be too terribly worried about rushing another model out onto the market and rightfully so. Apple still has a large market share of the tablet market and has steadily held it since the release of the original iPad.

However, with that being said, Apple knows it is in their best interests to release another revolutionary version of the iPad. Therefore, it is reasonable to say that Apple will indeed be releasing two new versions of the iPad in the coming year.

Will Steve Jobs Death Effect the IPad 3?

As most of you know, Steve Jobs has recently passed away at the age of 56. His official cause of death was listed as respiratory arrest. Our prayers go out to him and his family, we will definitely remember him forever. With Steve Jobs gone, you have to wonder if Apple will be able to continue producing the same amazing products. The iPad 3 is still not expected until 2012, and none of us know how exactly it will be impacted by his death. We will definitely have more news as we come closer to the release date.

Will the IPad 3 have curved glass?

Rumors have surfaced that the iPad 3 will have curved glass as part of a design overhaul. Some tech devices like the Google Nexus S already have curved glass. Currently, the fifth generation iPod nano has curved glass, which does mean it is possible that Apple made add it to the iPad 3.

However, there is one major reason that the iPad 3 may not have curved glass. The whole point of curved glass is to give a caller better comfort when the device is placed against your face. The iPad is not a phone so it does not really make sense for the iPad to get curved glass, unless it is for style purposes only.

Tech companies are desperately attempting to gain an edge over the competition by introducing curved glass onto their gadgets. Some rumors have reported that Apple has bought glass-polishing equipment in preparation for the new generation of Apple devices containing curved glass

While the iPad 3 will only be released next summer, the rumors are already starting to heat up about the design and features. What do you think about the iPad 3? What will it look like? Will it contain curved glass or not?
