With the great success of the Nintendo Wii, and the huge amounts of Nintendo DS hand-helds being sold, the question that rears its head in my mind is, why? Why, compared to rival company Microsoft and Sony's offerings, do the Nintendo brand products differ so greatly? Would things have been different had Nintendo not develop the Wiimote? I think a conclusion to the latter should be divided up into two points of view, from both a secular centric view, and a more individualistic one.

The fact that Nintendo always produced games close to its core brand paid off greatly, in my opinion, in the long run.
