Yeah, I heard of a game like that... It's called Disaster Report... It's sounds exactly like the game you're talking about... And it was released on the PS2 like 5 years ago...
Good point... Suprised noone else has commented on this. I'll do some educated guesses;
1. Bigger file sizes mean you have to buy bigger storage devices. 2. They probably have encoding up the ying-yang trying to prevent copying or altering. 3. The music. It's probably digital, as opposed to analog which a lot of 8 bit games were. 4. Not sure about the PS3, but on 360 there are achievements, and I'm sure those need to be coded into the game code. 5. Is there controller feedback (vibration) in the game?
The reason why there are COD4 fanboys, and Halo 3 fanboys, and neither side budges is because they are two different play types. One is a very serious shooter, and one is a jump around frag fest. It's that simple. Me, personally, enjoy COD4. The single player, although short, was a great game experience, the online mode is fun, and I've never once glitched (ie, fell through the floor, a wall, got stuck, died suddenly). Halo 3, IMO, had a lackluster single player, not to great of game experience, and the online mode (Which everyone credits as the 'real' reason you play Halo) seems BROKEN sometimes. Not to mention it's not that fun, or balanced. Me, personally, will always choose COD4, but don't make fun of or condemn Halo players.
