I'll be playing this game with a cc pro (unless I get it and it's horrible, in which case I'll play with cc) and a WiiSpeak. If the language gets too ugly (F***! I got hit! I need a F***ing potion! F***, f***, f***!) I might switch to keyboard. Going in with a switch axe (hopefully the Lagicrus one).

EDIT: And I'll spend the whole time playing online unless you can't beat the game that way :P

BrunoBRS

you can't beat the game. not online, not offline. there's nothing to "beat".

Haha so true! And I sorta feel the same way about the Wii Speak. I don't feel like listening to that and especially not some 12 year old who won't shut up about how is better than you in every way. X(

Yes well the game never truely ends haha. It's sorta like the Pokemon games in that regard. I guess you could consider having beaten every mission as completion but then there's sooooo much armor and weapons that you can upgrade. Addictive gaming at its finest. :D

Yes, I'm fully aware that there is some inherant risk when buying a third party accessory, which is kind of why I asked this question. Ive heard bad things about such accessories so I was just curious if anyone has actually had any first hand experience with this product specifically.

I'm definitely going with the CC pro. I really hate the Wiimote+Nunchuk set up. Also I'll start out with a keyboard, and if I deem it necessary I might get a WiiSpeak. As for class, I'm going hammer! I've always loved the hammer in the past and the ability to stun enemies with it is such a great ability to have imo. Its also one of the hardest hitting weapons. I'll might try out the switch axe for a while though since it seems pretty cool.

Hey I just wanted to ask if anyone bought the Nyko Wand Plus yet? Its brand new and I haven't seen any reviews of it yet. It has the Wii Motion Plus built into it, which is what really intruiged me about this controller, since this would make it possible to use a wireless nunchuk with motion plus games i.e. Red Steel 2. So, I just wanted to ask if anyone has tried this out yet and if they have any input/verdict on how well this works.

Ive been a Monster Hunter fan for a while now and I must say that I'm very surprised that they gave this game a good rating, considering that most mainstream game reviewers have told people in the past that the Monster Hunter series is trash. I'm satisfied with their rating and I think they reviewed it very fairly. Obviously this game is not for everyone since it does have a very steep learning curve, but I'm hopeful that many more people will now give this series a chance to grow on them. For me Monster Hunter has easily been the most addicting game I've played and with Tri there's finally online!!! I cant wait! Getting my copy on Tuesday :D

kenakuma

who... ARE you...?

Garrett the Ferret dude, get with the times!

Theirs a new Garrett on the block now :P

As for IGN's review its what I expected, right around a 9, I expect most reviews to be around their!

Haha yes I'm a newbie here. I've actually used Gamespot for quite some time but just recently decided to join. Mostly because of Monster Hunter Tri coming out in 6 days.

Yup that's pretty much it dude. Also I'd recommend that you go to Wii Options/ Wii Settings/ Screen and change the resolution to HD and also to widescreen depending on your TV.

I would say that the controls and combat gameplay were a success. I love the combat and always have a good time slashing/shooting ninja dudes to death. The graphics were also pretty amazing. My problem was with the whole presentation and the storyline. I didn't like the feeling of just walking around empty streets all the time doing what felt like random missions. I haven't finished it yet but so far the high point was the train level. That was totally brilliant. I felt like i was actually doing something instead of just aimlessly killing. I also wish there were more battle more often. Like maybe random battles so the combat doesn't feel so detached at times. Though overall its a very fun game and I would recommend it to any Wii owner.
