[QUOTE="thequietguy"]Does the Slim have an optional ethernet port? If not, how reliable is the wi-fi adapter? Also how much does a transfer cable cost? Does the 360 Slim come with an HDMI cable? Please answerthequietguy

Yes it has an ethernet port. The Wi-Fi is very reliable. The transfer cable costs $19.99. No the slim does not come with an HDMI cable, i recommend going to monoprice.com because i got an HDMI cable for $5.

Thanks. I have an HDMI cable from my Elite, guess I'll sell it without. Or maybe I'll sell them for like $20 to someone and buy another. Also, does it come with a plug-and-play or a battery or anything? or just AAs? And what about headset? And can I buy a transfer cable, or does it have to be new?

No it just comes with batteries. But it does come with a cool black controller and black headset. and i don't know much on how the transfer cable works. i just used a USB flash drive to transfer my data.

No you do not need the wireless adapter. I'm really glad i never bought the adapter cause it was an extra reason for me to upgrade to the new 360. It was easy connecting it to my wireless router.

Have any of you seen any videos of the Slim demolishing games? Apparently they're serious about not moving the Xbox while you're playing.JhnRll7
okay but seriously... Why do you have to move your console while your playing a game?!?! can't you turn it off or at least send it to the dash board if you have the desperate need to move it? i've had the xbox 360 for 4 years and never had a single scratch.

*Update*Ok I played my new slim 360 some more the second day and I will have to say it still sounds kind of loud compared to my older PS3 phat. Now it is quieter than the Jasper arcade I tried out and returned last year from Walmart(that sounded like a jet). Good thing this has a HD since I just downloaded the game there and it was quiet. It did seem to be a little bit hotter to the touchthan my PS3 phat gets from similar playing. I would probably advise people to hold off from getting a 360 slim if they don't really need one now until it is known how reliable this model really is. I will say though if you have the money and really want you should just go for it as it looks nicer and does seem to be a little bit quieter and better built than previous models.

i think if you have an older 360 now, especially if its out of warrenty, its a great buy. everything about the console seems superior, its just a better quality build than the previous xbox and of course its got the huge HDD and wi-fi. and about the "loud noise" its a heck of a lot quieter than my old xbox when spinning a disk, but if you install the games its completely silent.

[QUOTE="Hobbsey07"]

I bought mine just last week. I'm loving it :) Like everyone said, quieter, all that.

But I did something stupid. I transferred all my data with a USB. Apparently moving it form on HDD to another Corrupts and deletes save files... I lost my lvl 61 and lvl 45 characters in Borderlands, and my Assassin's Creed 2 save. I was pissed.

So, back to grinding everything again :evil:

ch4tteringte3th

I didn't bother transfering my data I just started everything again

i didnt need any of my demos or anything. i just put all my save files on a flash drive to transfer

[QUOTE="Big_Evil666"][QUOTE="GarrettDS"]

i payed $110 with the gamestop trade-in deal today. its pretty sweet. i've seen pictures of it before but when i actually took it out, it was considerably lighter and smaller than the other xbox. it seems like its only slightly bigger than the wii (dontown one but still). the only problem which was my mistake, i turned it on before i hooked it up to my tv to hearhow quiet it was. then when i went to plug in theHDMI i accidently put my hand on the xbox and the disk traybutton reacted and tried to open, the only problem was the sticker, with the warning: not to move the xbox, was still on it so i quickly took it off, but that was scary. it works awesome now, wi-fi and 250gbhard drive is great!

gees dude, almost wrecked it right outta the box! lol! j/k! :P

haha, i would be so pissed. but ya that button is so sensitive! and i was like, "why did it beep?... oh #*?$ !!!"
