To be honest if i get a working console i'm happy, i don't mind any of these avatars or adverts thrown in if my console works everytime.

However with my problem free 2 year old 360 breaking within 24 hours of a major update being released, my confidence in Microsoft's ability to provide for the gamer has been severely rattled. Just make a games console that works, stop being innovative with all these dashboards and media center-ish modules that no one needs, it's a games console. After all, what's the point in having a fancy looking dashboard if your 360 never works correctly.

My problem was when i was playing Force Unleashed after i downloaded the update, the screen went blotchy and contrasted. Textures looked like blurred messes. So i restarted my 360, looked fine, then it happened again. So i thought maybe due to the update it could be my HD settings so i altered them, changed to 720p and then i got no screen at all, including no sound.

I've tried through standard definition using the scart and AV and still no screen, it isn't my Tv as i've tried my friend's xbox, the information on the tv tells me theres no signal coming from the 360 either. The weird thing is i only get sound when the sound cables are plugged into the av ports, however no screen. I've even performed the graphics reset command by holding Y and the Right Trigger. No luck.

I definitely look after my consoles also, i've even got a working Atari 2600, NES and Sega Megadrive.
