Im waiting for the 600ms to come out, anyone know if they will be compatible with the current alienware?
I have a 560m sli configuration in m18x im going to be upgrading to a 580m sli. Is the sli bridge currently in use for the 560ms compatible with the 580m?
damn pricey!!! when do you reckon it will get cheaper....im pretty happy with what i got, m18x gotta tell you its a damn beast and its far from full specs, but that 580M upgrade keeps popping up in my head haha You don't think you've wasted enough money on the laptop? for me it was worth every penny, I absolutely love it[QUOTE="GdG"][QUOTE="C_Rule"] But... to a certain i completely agree with you in terms of price but you can honestly build a mediocre desktop for 800 bucks! Medicore ? You can build a tower with a quad core processor , $100 motherboard, 8gb ram, case with three fans, 80+ certified 550w powersupply, HD6970 video card, 1TB harddrive and dvd drive for around $750........ (I could cut $200 easily off the price and still make it a mid ranged build that can max almost every single game at 1080p......) Don't see where your getting mediocore from ok I agree I was probably wrong, but you surely cant max out every game on those specs[QUOTE="GdG"][QUOTE="wis3boi"] lmao wow......i could build a great desktop fr that price. I think this is the first time I've seen a laptop with a removable GPU, that's just not worth it at allmastershake575

I've found one on Ebay for ~$750 USD after shipping. There's also one at RJTech.com for $800 in what I'm assuming is USD. I've never ordered from the latter site before, so I don't know how reliable they are.

But ya you should see the M18X is a behemoth of a laptop so I they have more than enough space. They also told me the processor could be changed but it is wayyyyyy too costly[QUOTE="GdG"][QUOTE="GS550L"]
It's quite common to find a discrete video card in a laptop if it's got a high end GPU. If the TC has an appropriate MXM slot, there's a good chance he'll be able to swap out his laptop's current card for the 580M (assuming he can find one).

That's a Graphic CHIP for a laptop... You will not be able to purchase one separately to my knowledge. They are usually soldered directly on the laptop's motherboard during production.

You can find them on eBay,but good luck doing soldering it to your laptopMonsieurX
