I rather pay for Live, its not such a big deal its only $50 a year plus a month. I played on the other on-line services and they weren't the best, the Wii for instance was full of lag, and people getting disconnected it wasn't pretty.
Not every game you trade in is worth $15. It depends on a couple of things, like when was the game released... Newer games will get you more money, what condition is the game in, and if you want money for it or in-store credit that can lower or raise the games value, and if there is any special deals going on that can also affect how much you get.
