So I've had DR for quite a while now. It's always worked flawlessly without freezing/crashing/you-name-it.

Until now.

I can play for about 5 minutes until my screen freezes completely or goes black. I can play Halo 3 just as good as before, so it can't be the 360. I wonder how it can be the disk's fault..

I've tried: Cleaning the disk, Holding A in the lobby after putting in the CD to reset the game cache etc.

What can possibly be causing this?

Thanks in advance

Just to report back at you - I bought the 360 + Dead Rising.

And..

It turned out great. The text is NO problem at all - maybe other people only have 10year old+ televisions?
I mean, I can see it perfectly. I don't know how, but it's a 28" TV, no problem at all.

Maybe you're just really picky - or have a real bad TV. Mine's working completely fine on my SDTV, standard cables (red, white, yellow).

Cheers for the replies people, enjoying the game alot :)

I don't know what resolution my SDTV uses, but I know I won't be able to use Component Cables - I'll be using the Composite ones which comes with the box.

How do I know what resolution I have, and what is the MINIMUM to be able to see these messages?

(Also, I saw somewhere that the radio messages and all the "unreadable" texts were viewable in a larger font in your watch? Does this go for -every- text in the game, so I won't miss out on stuff?)

Do the rest of the game look great on my fairly new SDTV? (I know it won't look as good as HDTV, duh.. but atleast much better than a goodlooking Xbox game etc?)

The TV I'm using is similar to (if not exactly):

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=28PT4456/58&slg=ENG&searchtxt=28PT44

Again - Screenshots on how fonts look on Composite Cables are very appreciated! Other photos are also very welcome!

Thanks alot.

I took some pictures for you to show you how it would look on my screen in both 720p and 480p. Keep in mind however my camera isn't the greatest in the world, and 480p is standard definition, but progressive scan. Dead Rising in 720p: Here Dead Rising in 480p: Here Note how the 720p image fills my whole screen, while 480p has black pillars on either side of the screen, typical of standard definition on HDTVs, but also note that the game is letterboxed additionally on the top and bottom. On a standard definition TV at 480i, it might get rid of that letterboxing, but stretch the image vertically so there's no black space. This in turn would stretch the image out of dimensions. I am using an HDTV setup with an HDMI connection from the Xbox 360. It's likely you're using an SDTV with composite cables (Yellow video, White Left Stereo, Red Right Stereo) so I couldn't say for sure if it will do this or not. This should give you a good idea of what you MIGHT expect however. Hope this helps.Starbound571

So that's how it looks with HDTV? No problem at all there, looks very acceptable on each picture :)

Just wondering - is the 480p Picture the result i can expect? Or should I expect worser?
Any pictures with a normal SDTV is HIGHLY appreciated, it'd be really helpful.

Thanks alot, Starbound. That was all HD quality with different resolutions, right?

Still - is it Unreadable? Could anyone post an example of how much "noise" there is to it? I don't feel like spending alot of money before I'm ensured I can even play the game.

Thanks alot for the reply :)

So I was all excited about getting myself a 360, mainly for the epic-looking game Dead Rising.
Now, the day before I was gonna go out and spend my cash on it, I noticed it had issues with SDTV.

I'm on an 28" SDTV, quite new. It's a Phillips one if that's any help. I was wondering - is it as bad as people say?
"Omg it's unplayable"
"I can't read the text AT ALL"
"I sold mine"

Etc, etc, because I really like the idea of the game, and I've been waiting a long time for something like this to come around.
Is there any solution for this? Any confirmed patches?

Also, I have a smaller SDTV. 14". Would it be sharper on that one, or even worse? I know playing on the smaller one enhances the resolution a bit, and it might help alot.

I also heard there are some special cables for SDTVs which you can use. How expensive are they and what are they called?

What do you think?

Thanks in advance! ^^

So, I got a Wii for christmas. I plug it all in, and I start playing Sports. All goes fine, and I decide to play WiiPlay. I get a Read Disc Error right after the "Put on your strap" logo when you start up the game. The second time I try it went fine. I insert Zelda into the drive and I play for 6 hours straight, no problems. The next day, I had played up to 15 hours total on my Wii since I got it, Zelda that is.

When I insert Tony Hawk into the drive, it starts up as it should, no worries. But suddenly it all turns black and Wii freezes. I can't do anything at all, and I am forced to hold the Powerbutton down.
The same when I was trying to update the Wii, I could see the bar, but it didn't make any progress at all except for an inch or so, it stuck for 30 minutes straight. I power it off completely and I haven't been arsed to try again. Should I return my Wii for a new one?

And oh, only serious responses, if you really don't have any experience with this whatsoever - don't bother. Thanks.
