Ridiculous? What's ridiculous is how someone's political beliefs are influencing a video game review. She lowered the score of GTA5 by 10% because she thinks the game is misogynistic. That's like saying "The Godfather" isn't a masterpiece because it negatively depicts Italian Americans as gangsters.
We don't want her personal opinion on the game. We want an unbiased evaluation of the game's production quality to see if its worth buying or not.
Love the video. Well said. But why won't GameSpot just admit Carolyn's review of GTA5 was unprofessional and out of place? Maybe there is a method to all the online commenting mayhem.

(1) PC gaming is the best graphical experience you can have while at home. There is significant empirical evidence which suggests this. So if you're going to drop $300-$400 on a gaming console why not build a gaming PC and actually learn about some of the terms you're regurgitating.
Arguing the limitations of the Wii U compared to other gaming consoles is like arguing how your Honda Civic is faster than the other guy's Hyundai when a Ferrari is being sold down the street for the same price.
(2) The point that @renzorxfx is trying to make is that the Nintendo Wii U offers a different kind of gaming experience and that graphical supremacy is not necessary to give customers a great gaming experience. Different demographics like different things.
For example, I own a PS3. I play all the time but my girlfriend won't touch the thing. Last month I bought a Nintendo Wii U and now I'm telling her to get off the TV for once.
Stupid article. "Check out this data, it suggests blah, blah, blah. Oh, BTW this data shouldn't be interpreted this way so ignore what I just wrote"
Clearly, strong, well established IPs will sell regardless of a demo. Marketers know this and see no need to reduce the anticipation before release. You don't need to have a degree in statistics to figure that out, just some common sense.
1. Thief has always been, and should continue to be 'that' game known for hardcore stealth. An action play style should be near impossible to pull off, not a viable strategic option . If I wanted to play yet another hybrid stealth shooter Splinter Cell, Hitman, Dishonored, and Deus Ex are all available;
2. Not a fan of the focus, Max Payne style bullet time mechanic. Takes away from the feeling of vulnerability from past Thief games; and
3. No Stephen Russell voicing Garret is a real shame. One of the best voice acting performances in gaming history in my opinion.
