After owning my XBOX 360 for close to 3 years now and hearing nothing but how great XBOX LIVE is and how much better it is than the online experience of PSN that my far inferior PS3 offers, I finally decided to shell out the dough and get a live subscription. After my first 24 hours with it I have to say I'm unimpressed. I've heard ppl talk about how Live is so much smoother and doesn't lag or glitch like PSN and that there are so many more ppl on it so its much easier to find and get into games than PSN. I cant see any difference between the smoothness of gameplay or amount of lag when playing on either network and I've seen a few glitches on both my LIVE and PSN. So unless I have the only good PSN connection the two seem to be equal on that issue. As far as how easy it is to find and get into game I guess in all fairness I cant really speak on that since I only play Gears of War on my live, but I'm going to anyway. The amount of time it takes for me to be matched up and put into a round of Gears is ridiculous. I waited close to ten minutes once to get put into a game and that is no exaggeration, that is far worse then any wait time I've ever experienced with any of the online games I play on PSN. Like I said, Gears is the only game I play on LIVE so maybe its not like that for all the online games. Due to that fact I'll say that the average wait time it takes to get into an online match on either network is about the same. In the end though I still have to ask when it all comes down to it what am I really paying for with XBOX LIVE, it seems to be equal to PSN and its free. So Can someone tell me?
