Here is the thing, tied Games/Movies, do actually have potential,problem starts with the story being tied to the movie, so the developer that makes the game, has to concentrate mainly on the gameplay, the Graphics and in how to present that story the most compelling way possible.
But instead the companies, try to invest the less possible on these games (ending up with crappy games), and expect that the game sells with the Movie momentum. So what they get is good profit with low investment, thanks to the Movie, its like taking candy from a child.
But what they don't get is that a Movie tied in Game, does actually have the potential to be a AAA game, with proper time/money investment, they could make incredible games, but instead they prefer to go the easy way.
