@talkcasual A man being motivated by the death of a woman = bad? How about being defined by the death of a man? Well, that game must be sexist because there's no woman in a leading or influential role. The life of a woman defined by the death of a man? Pretty sure the company line is "a woman doesn't need a man to define her". Leaving us with a woman's life defined by the death of another woman. But seeing that most game developers are staffed by men, you'd actually hear the shouts of THAT'S SEXIST!

@Gl3nn Male gamers are not a vast majority (pretty sure it's around 40%+ female), and all those female gamers don't complain about playing lead MALES so for the industry to assume men won't play female leads is the real sexist issue here, not some character development arc that is as old as the hero's journey.

@Korvus85 Just like I'm sick of super army men in super power armor with super guns running around super grey shading. However, how many hundreds of millions did the game I just described (and the fact that I could mean a TON of games should be a warning) make in one day? The big bucks cater to the big spenders.... the little shit stain brat pulling on mommies sleeve to buy him more toys to entertain him while she can't be bothered to. It sucks, but until people stop buying ironsight stare-down simulator 18, and when people pull their head out their ass (I mean, of all games to complain about female leads, THIS is your jumping off point? Not Bayonetta or Custer's Last stand? or every Nintendo Mario / link save the helpless princess reiteration?) this stagnant pool will be the main'stream' of gaming. :(
