Do your step now about uninstalling drivers, I am new to thing so just want to make sure I am doing this right. Went to uninstall programs and there are 4 programs under Nividia: 3D Vision Driver, Graphics Driver, HD Audio Driver, and PhysX System software. Should I just go ahead and uninstall them all?

a BSOD is a common problem its often (about 95% often) to be hardware faliure or erro related and a good 50% of the time its ram related. im thinking its either a ram stick has gone sour or its something related to the mobo

ionusX
So what actions would you recommend I take to find out the problem?

Hey guys, finally received all of the parts for my computer, and have absolutely loved gaming on it for the past week or so. My friends have actually texted me and asked me if I am ever going to get onto xbox live again. Anyways while the experience is great, I am having a major problem. The first day that I started up the computer, after like 3 hours of gaming I got the BSOD, I restarted my computer and ended up getting it 2 more times that night. The weird thing about it is, I then gamed for 5 days for about 4 or 5 hours per day and never got it again. Sure enough yesterday while playing a game of Counter Strike, boom happens again. Computers are completely new to me. I purchased all the parts off of newegg and had someone help me build it. It is just frustrating me because I spent a decent amount on it, and I feel like I should not already be having problems with it. Any help from you guys would be appreciated. Is it normal for this problem to like only pop up occasionally? And is there any way to diagnose the problem? The error is the: Driver Irql Not Less or Equal Here is my system: CPU: Intel i7 3.4GHz MB: MSI P67A-GD65 B3 RAM: 8GB Ripjaws Graphics Card: GTX 570 PSU: Antec 650KW Hard Drive: 1TB Western Digital Thermaltake Frio Fan Silverstone Raven Case Thanks fellas.

Thanks a lot of your suggestions osan. I have gotten to play a lot of games on console, and feel like I want to experience a lot of them again on PC, but I like your suggestions because right now I would like to find some "different" stuff that I have not been able to experiences on consoles. I guess I am sort of looking for some stuff unique to the PC gaming experience, and you guys have named a lot.

Yeah I am really up for playing any good games, old or new, and that is sort of why I got a PC. It seems like I will now have so many more options. I may have to hold off on getting a great mouse and keyboard right now and just pick up something cheap, although those Razer KB/M look pretty sick. I think to start off I would like to get something like a RPG - Possibly the Witcher. A FPS: I have heard good things about Stalker, if I do get that I hear to download some sort of a "complete" mod, is that true? I am completely new to mods. And a good multiplayer game. Maybe TF2, or BF2?

Thanks a lot for all of your replies guys, I have noticed the PC community on here is very helpful, coming from a solely console owner. I am going to try out a lot of these games and try not to get to overwhelmed and buy too many haha. So I should download steam and make an account and buy games from there then? I think its so cool you can buy games without leaving your home and be able to pre-order them. I have not even gotten to play a single game on my PC and I can't believe how excited I already am. Anyways yeah I mainly enjoy FPSs, RPGs, and I would love to get into some strategy games since I never got to enjoy them on my consoles.

Hey guys, finally got my first gaming PC and I am absolutely stoked. Just needed some advice from anyone, being a n00b PC gamer and all. FIrstly: Any suggestions on what keyboard and mouse to buy for gaming? Just using some old stuff now until I chose what to buy. More importantly: What should be some of my first game purchases to enjoy my new rig, and see what I have been missing on consoles? I am kind of leaning towards the first Stalker, and the Witcher. I am really excited for the Witcher 2 to come out so I figured I better play the first game. Any input is greatly appreciated, feel free to suggest anything to help me have a great time in this completely new gaming world for me, although I am already pretty damn happy, thanks.
