Try and explain how the universe works then.
It's being worked on by scientists. We don't know how everything works of course, and we can explain how many parts of the universe work right now.
Thus we don't know how ghosts work, Or if they exist.
In this world things require proof. Or if you are in an environment that you think has ghosts it needs to be tested by different scientists. The reasoning for ghosts is what, some guy same something, felt something, heard something, wanted to hear/feel/see something. That is not concrete proof.
