I don't think Zelda needs an M but it has been nearly 30 years since the first Zelda came out and yes we are adults now and maybe need something more refined. Don't get me wrong I actually loved Wind Waker it was one of my favorites. It is just that Link has always had the same motivation, evil has appeared and only he can stop it. However as adults we know that this is hardly ever the case for some one doing something so dangerous. A Link to the Past is so far the only game to feature Link's father and he dies immediately. That's pretty grim. What is even more grim is that it is never brought up again...ever. That's terrible! Your father just died! That should be a defining moment in anyone's life. Death, murder, righteousness, grief, selfishness, self preservation; these are adult traits. Link is the hero of pure heart, but what if he wasn't? What if he was flawed like adults? What if the death of his father pushes him in ways that may seem extreme? Not saying this will get an M rating or should just as adults we (should) like deeper characters. That being said if they never change Link I will still play. I love the franchise (less the DS games, I hated them so far).
