Watching the Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar-qKACbnkg), I can't help but be disappointed in how the actual gameplay does not represent anything in the trailer. In the trailer, there is extensive destruction, spectacular lighting, more detail, and a slew of other things. I know that the video is just a target render but I really wished we could play games of this caliber. I know, that to do so, requires more work and money, on the companies side, in order to extensively develop a game to be up to par to it's render trailer but I hope next gen will be able to pull this off. What are your opinions. Does a game trailer set certain standards for you that you expect to be met or does it not really affect your opinions on a game.
I'm not very electronically inclined, but I have heard that the Samaritan Demo, from Unreal, ran on one GTX 680. Now I know that only a representative from Unreal could tell us when a Samaritan type game would come out but I'm assuming it would have to be PC exclusive and according to my understanding, there isn't a whole lot of PC exclusive games. I'm just speculating, but I hope that a game like the Samaritan Demo will come out on PC and fully utilize the greatest Nvidia and ATI has to offer in their graphic cards. State your opinion. Thanks.
http://techcrunch.com/2008/07/09/otoy-developing-server-side-3d-rendering-technology/ I'm sure you all have heard of it. I think it's pretty cool. What are your opinions concerning this concept.
