I don't know man; I tried to swallow Little Big Planet, but, I just couldn't get past the idea of running around putting stickers on billboards... I know that eventually those stickers can be pictures that you snap with your ps3 cam, etc, but, I still fail to see where the challenge is? I may have given up on it and sold it too soon, but, I'd really like to know how a game could be fun without a captivating story-line or an intense competitive multilayer.

If you made hundreds of millions selling you apple pies in Mississippi, but would have to invest time and money to train and hire all types of people in order to develop or adapt a recipe that you can use to sell your pies in Cincinnati; would you go through the hassle? I wouldn't, even if it meant more millions. Even if the work is but a mere investment, often the companies that produce the best product are run by owners that don't let the company grow beyond their capacity to effectively manage it. It's refreshingly surprising that unlike most greedy corporations that want to take over every market possible, Valve has sufficed themselves to the profits from the MS platform. They could've just as easily half-assed PS3 versions of the upcoming games through EA, and made hundreds of millions on the titles, but lost face with PS3 gamers. You should be thanking them, not hating them...lol

Yeah, twisted metal black was a sad addition to the series. Twisted Metal 2 was one of the few (and only) of its genre. Rush 2049 for Dreamcast was better than the Twisted Metal series though.

[QUOTE="primetime08865"]Hey guys i am getting 3 games on friday and i want to know what should i get. two i know i am getting Madden 2010, Midnight Club LA and i am looking for one more out of thes What would u Pick ? Battlefield Bad Company Call of Duty 4: MW or Call of Duty: WaW Mirror's Edge Resistance or Resistance 2 Saints Row 2 Valkyria Chronicles looking for good single player game out of the above thanks

Most bang for your buck multiplayerwar-sim game: Warhawk or COD4 (COD4 is purely a shooter though). Bad Company is okay too, but, Warhawk is more solid. Bad Company 2 is coming out this fall, so, BC will likely get abandoned once BC2 comes out. Valkyria Chronicles if you're into drawn out story lines.

I'm optimistic that every region will see a price cut. Sony has to work hard to make sure that people are thinking about them and their products this holiday season. A price cut along with a nominal fee for premium goods will be a good way to give a break to the customer while also keeping their pockets lined.

i'd return my ps3, no questions asked. in fact if they started charging for psn thats grey areas for a public suit on false advertisement.

Are you reading what I typed earlier? How would this be grounds for a law suit? They are providing you free online play and access to the playstation store but when they suggest adding an OPTIONAL fee for premium services then people talk lawsuit and boycott? Let me remind you that there has already been an optional service provided on the playstation network. It's call Qore. Are you going to sue Sony for not providing it to everyone? If so, you are months late.

Yeah, you got a good point. I'm all for it. I pay for XBL, and for $40/year ($3.34 per month), I never lost a connection, lag is almost non-existent, and I can stream movies from my NetFlix que through the 360. Don't get me wrong, the PSN is awesome, but, it can be better, and I'd be happy to pay for premium service if it means less service disconnections, less lag, etc. If it was an all-inclusive thing for access to all of the games on the PSN, I don't know if I'd like that; I'd rather just pay once for the games that I want to play, unless the subscription is $3/month or something...lol

Arcade game-wise, the US PSN is up to par with XBL. Except on XBL, indie games come out every other day, but the majority of them really suck. You get the occasional gems, but, really you're better off visiting the addicting games site for 'cheap thrills.' XBL has now matched the PSN in getting 'games on demand,' but, the prices really are ridiculous, and around 50% over what you would pay in the store. They chose good games; I'll give them that much. Too bad I already played just about every one, since they were really the 'must haves.' Game maps and add-ons are identical for both systems by the way. Aside from the superior connection, the dashboard that visually flaunts what's new, latest news, community events, instant Netflix steaming, etc, is what makes the XBL worth the $40/year, and a superior online entertainment system. Game-wise, both networks have an 'okay' variety, but I'd really like to see the PSN convert some PS2 titles into HD, and make them available for $10-15. If the PSN did that, hardly any system that has ever come out sported as many games as the PS2.

[QUOTE="mike1146l"]

i like battlefield because it's so worth it! it's only 15$ and it's newer :D

Agent_Kaliaver
I just picked up Warhawk for $15 and i got BF 1943 on XBLA (Half off.... not a sale just me being crafty). I've got to say i'm enjoying Warhawk much more. My main gripe with 1943 is that everything looks the same (as in all the maps look the same, but are still different). But for me i've played BF 1942 so it felt like the same game (less classes) with the ability to destroy building (awesome) and the removal of some stuff that didn't need to be in the original game (coastal cannons to shoot the boats). It didn't feel new enough to be that amazing game i wanted it to be. Or hell it didn't even feel old enough to be... I just find that 1943 plays and feels like everything else... Warhawk actually feels unique. Everything from the maps to the guns and to the vehicles (wish there were more... but oh well) just feels different. And hey... i like that.

Yeah man I hear ya, but, if only 1943 played like everything else... I've played just about every PS3 shooter that has come out for the system since launch. I play battlefield, and I just don't see the reason for the fuss, when it looks and plays like a cheap Warhawk knock-off! As a 'shooter,' it can't match COD2 (let alone 4+5), and as a war simulation game, it can't touch Warhawk or even Bad Company. Battlefield, in my opinion, is a mediocre version of Bad Company. If you can imagine a seven year-old version of Bad Company for Playstation 2, you'll get Battlefield 1943. Except for the really bad music, both Bad Company and Warhawk are superior games in every conceivable way. In 1943, the Graphics are 'dry;' there is no variety with the guns/rifles/equipment (era and setting noted); the sound (when it works) is generic to put it mildly. Warhawk has unlockable characters, a slew of weapons, and almost perfect consistent gameplay with little or no surprises. Bad Company is more realistic with better weapons, a variety of everything, and exceptional detail (For example, you can snipe someone walking inside of a high building through the glass). First person shooter-wise, Bad Company is a better game than Warhawk; however, war simulation-wise Warhawk is better balanced. The glitches in 1943 are almost laughable. - Scoped from a distance with a sniper rifle, the sprites float or sink. - You hit someone dead-on with a jeep, and the only effect you get is confusion about whether or not you missed him. (Okay, not a glitch, but, poor development?) - The sound effects randomly turn off/on with massive static, sometimes. - The game freezes every other hour forcing you to cold reboot your PS3 - Squads and friends are broken up routinely, every few games. - Gameplay-wise the bomb raids have taken over game. Everybody and their brother (on the same team, mind you) is fighting over the radio bunker. All in all, download Warhawk and buy Bad Company later. Honestly, gameplay-wise, I have NEVER been so impressed with any game on the PS3 as I was with Warhawk, mainly due to the accuracy of the motion sensor steering of the tanks, jeeps, and fighters. The absolute control over the fighters is really what set this game apart from the rest for me. It takes major skill and practice to master this game, and the online play not only has variety, but is fairly simple enough to 'jump right into.'
