Minutes to Midnight, Linkin Park's latest album, is an immense turn from the previous sound associated with the rock band. With Meteora, Linkin Park focused their efforts towards a Nu-Metal sound, heavier than that of Hybrid Theory or Reanimation. This Nu-Metal sound fell flat and ended up getting absorbed into the rest of the recent Nu-Metal bands. With this latest album, Linkin Park takes a lighter, more mature tone and manages to bring out their true talents to showcase. Rather than simple beats, and non-stop heavy riffs, we hear complex drumming patterns brought together with incredible raw guitar sounds.
