Well, hopefully the new Castlevania is really good. I did check out the Metroid M trailer, and I really like the implementation of both the old school elements it brings and the new stylized 3d aspect. I would love something like that, but we'll see how this new iteration turns out. I would be cool with multiple characters if they were relevant to the story and had their own impact in the game when you played with them, or if they were bonus unlockables of characters you meet in the game. I mostly want an adult oriented story that's really dark and heavy on emotion. Nothing cheesy, just a real sense of if this were a real situation, the castlevania inhabitants would be ruthless and creul, dracula would be a horrible person, and the struggle for good to win would be imperative and neccessary for those who wish to be free of the slavery Dracula wants over the human beings of the living world. Mix that with deep gameplay, great camera work, an extensive equipment system, and a great soundtrack and you've got yourself an ideal castlevania game, or at least what I think would be ideal. It may yet happen. Dracula seems to be an infinite incarnate of evil, so he'll be returning long after I take a dirt nap.

So, I just want to post this to see what all of you Castlevania fans like about castlevania, certain aspects of castlevania games (music, gameplay, 3d or 2d, etc.), and what kinda of castlevania would you make or like to see.

Now, I personally don't like the newer 3D castlevania games too much (fully rotational camera and what-not), just because I don't like the direction they've been taken in.

So, with that being said, what I would do is, take the side scrolling CV for example SoTN, and make the graphics completely high quality 3d while still keeping the SideScroll aspect (60fps smooth, flowing clothing-hair/high quality lighting/trees moving from wind/debris-dust-rocks/castle degredation/and the list goes on), and add background depth and maybe camera shifting techniques to explore different aspects of the castle while keeping it a somewhat traditional platformer.

I like a dark story, something with a lot of emotion and something serious being that Dracula is a vampire trying to destroy/enslave humans, and it can't be lame, and I know SotN is the go to CV game, but I did like the father/son/mother struggle with Alucard, and how Richter worked for the dark side for a bit and how he could die depending on your playthrough, I would make it more serious and darker. Something genuinely sinister, no dracula's named walter, and no pretty boy main character. This is a dark time and a serious matter, I want evil intimidating enemies, and a serious battle hardened main character who's supposed to have been training to fight this evil specifically (if you're a Belmont that is) and if not, I still would want a strong serious main character who's ready to take care of business.

Music for me, the best 2 games, SotN and my favorite of all time...the 1st Castlevania. I'd keep it in the same vein as these 2 being that the game does have a theme about it, these 2 games I would let inspire a new soundtrack, as well as making, once again, an even darker and even more menacing soundtrack.

I've always love this idea in any game so i would implement an extensive equipment system, the CV games have been pretty good on how much stuff you can equip, I would add rings for all fingers or just 4 excluding the thumb, and up to 2 or three necklaces. Of course all the rings and necklace items would have to be balanced as so not to overpower someone wearing 8 rings and 3 necklaces, but seriously to make it a little more realistic i think that should be an option. I also think that your entire appearance should be directly affected by what you have equipped.

So in a nutshell, -Revamped 3D/2D sidescrolling graphics with innovative camera trickery, -A Serious Dark and Sinister Story w/good emotional content and a strong cast of characters, Good ol' CV Music with new compostions, and -An updated Asthetically/Involving equipment system, just to name a few.

These are just a few things, I could list a lot, and put a lot of detail, but this just a quick run down and a good little CV topic for everyone to talk about things they like or would like in a Castlevania game. Feel free to post as much or as little detail as you would like.

haha, yeah, play oblivion. Maybe if they mixed shadow of the colossus and Oblivion that would be awesome. But, I still play NES/SNES games and old PSX classics. I don't like most modern games BECAUSE the only thing dev's focus on is graphics or little options that don't mean too much. Actually, I think The Witcher is probably one of the coolest adult oriented games around right now, RPG-wise that is. Excellent story and gameplay. Half-Life 2 I think is one of the best shooters around WITH a kick a-s-s story, episode 3 is going to be awesome if they get around to releasing it. Hmm...haven't played much adventure games but I thought Drakes Fortune was very very fun, and had a pretty good Indiana Jones-like story (I'd say Assassins Creed for Adv/Platformer because it COULD have been awesome if not for the insane repetition of tasks, it could be insanley awesome if they make a sequel and fix this) These are just a few games I like and think that have not only good gameplay but a great integration of story as well. Some of you might say MGS4 but I think MGS4 is a movie that just happens to have some gameplay in it.

wow, that's alot. I maybe beat it 3 times, and you know what? I realized that to me this is my least favorite out of all the metal gear games. It's like he wanted to make a movie but his co-workers convinced him that there has to be some gameplay involved, so he slapped something together really quick, regurgitated the same bosses from MGS1 and voila! you have MGS4. He said he wanted to end it in MGS2 I think (correct me if i'm wrong) I can see that now in 4. Don't worry, I'm not a new fan, I've been playing it back since I had it on the NES, but I still think MGS1 is the best out of all of them, it takes the cake. Oh, but I have beaten Final Fantasy 6,7, & Tactics a bajillion times. bwahahaha.......

dude, why ask? Get both. Of course GT is going to be good, and as long as the new Burnout is like the 3rd one and legends for PSP then it's going to be awesome. One is a racing sim, the other is a frantic phsyco-drive-crash-fest game.

dude, it's possible with one psp to make a pandora battery, trust me, took me many hours and mistakes but I finally did myself. Now, it's up to you at that point to stay on the light side and stray the path and turn to the dark side, me, I'm Darth Gravity.

peace holmes.

really, if you lisen to david hayter's interview, examine the characters, and READ the subtitles in the trailer some of you will realize that Big Boss is around in this one. Remember, the bloodline must end, and whaddya know, the only way it would end is Big Boss really dying, and NO ONE can deny that fact since all of Big Bosses children are clones and their legacy dies with them. (sorry if that's a spoiler to anyone, if you haven't played MGS 1 don't bother with 4) All it takes is facts, no theories, I think everyone from this post on should start posting what we know is fact, I'm talking quotes, plotlines, and whatever else you all can muster up, and little things like how, if I'm not mistaken, Big Boss smokes Cigars and Snake smokes Cigarettes. But from what I gathered, Big Boss is still around, and who's to say what he has to do with MGS4.

FFXII's battle is like that, but like I was saying I'd definitely like more depth not that there wasn't some there already, and a Gambit-similar system for the other characters instead of mindless AI. I like how I could equip 8 or so gambits to say for example my Mage and have him/her cast cure/cura/curaga/curaja on the party if all or a particualr characters health dropped below 40% for example or if some wierd status effect was affecting my characters have them cast esuna/poisona/stona/blindna type of thing. Was definitley a great battle system, I'd say best one out of all the Final Fantasies
