Definitely $700 plus...

Definitely 80 dollar games....

Definitely rising service costs....

Definitely rising budgets....

Definitely digital in the drivers seat...

Definitely more remakes/remastered...

Definitely diminishing returns running wild due to lack of innovation.

We need a Renaissance...

80?...

Expect $90-100.

@Grey_Eyed_Elf: Grasping for straws? You are coming across as rather desperate. Seriously... Look at the sentence below.

"Diminishing returns on better specs is quite noticeable."

Since you really seem to struggle... let me help you out. My point is that we are at a point where due to diminishing returns. The benefits of stronger hardware are becoming less and less noticeable. This has been a pretty consistant theme with my posts for the past 5 years or so.

I must commend you for one thing though, you are giving my eye muscles quite the exercise from all the rolling they do.

Again...

Seems like your either stupid or think I am.

You using "diminishing returns" to describe the difference between two pieces of hardware not even in the same ball park is a cope and a weak form of arguing where you are using a backhanded compliment, trying to level the playing field to skew to your preferred console.

You clearly are focusing on visuals.

Why hide it?

And why get defensive when Digital foundry says all these games are looking like PS4 versions?

I think your rather pathetic to be honest. I came back here for free cheep entertainment while I am away on business, plan on leaving very soon.

@Grey_Eyed_Elf: I didnt say it was. Look at the other stuff on the list. There IS a lot of stuff on there weaker than a 3060.

The fact is, most gamers don't bother with upgrading their rigs. Between diminishing returns and lack of games demanding it. Most gamers just don't have much of a motivation to upgrade their GPUs.

I think you overestimate the power of a Mid-Range PC.

I'm sorry but what does that have to do with the point?

A mid range PC is a specification tier, its not a median calculation of what people have.

Simple point is the Switch 2 is weak compared to modern consoles and is nowhere near a mid range PC... How ever you want to take that information is completely up to you.

Mid Range is not a protected term and in teh context of how it was used by Firaxis employee it was pretty clear he was talking about your average PC used by gamers... which if I need remind you. Is actually quite a bit out of date.

Unless you are an afficiando, you are not likely to upgrade that often. Usually only when games demand it.

I can fully comprehend what's happening... And like every console launch there are people here like you who clearly can't.

From the article

This sentiment was echoed by Hogwarts Legacy head of technology Rob Nelson. While the current Switch has a version of the game, it’s heavily compromised with large loading zones and massive visual cutbacks, the new Switch 2 version is the same as PS5 and Xbox Series albeit on the go and quite attractive looking

What's happening is PR speak to hype a launch. To feed journalists to feed you with bold lies.

The Switch 2 version of Hogwarts being as PS5 and Series S... Yet the footage is PS4 levels.

The Fire axis dev was either miss quoted.. Which happens a lot, OR he's doing PR for his game the company that he's at a trade show with(Nintendo).

I swear you guys shouldn't be allowed to vote if you think the world is so black and white.

This is once again... you jumping to errenous conclusions.

I work in PR/Advertising... I am the person telling people what to say on before press events.

Seems like everyone is being an adult... Except you. You lack any comprehension of hardware and clearly the world you claim and seem to be interested in.

Jumping to conclusions?...

Listen, I don't have to jump to land on a fanboy here like you that keeps moving goal posts or changing subjects or is having memory issues and flip flopping with every other response.

While the PS5 version looks better. The Switch 2 version is nonetheless quite impressive.

Diminishing returns on better specs is quite noticeable.

Same old same old System wars.

Don't care about graphics?... But focus on them on every launch.

Nice try... but see my response to davillain.

I am more interested in a steady frame rate than I am in graphics or resolution. Late Switch games ended up running terribly. Hence why many of us are interested in the Switch 2.

Next time, try not jumping to conclusions.

smh... another swing and miss from Grey_Eyed_Elf

No...

I don't need to try, your sheer defence of a piece of hardware... the years you have been here, my experience in this forum.

Buddy were in our 30's how are you still a child?

Sony has said the Portal exceeded their expectations. It has been an unexpected hit considering the targeted audience.

Unexpected hit?...

Think before I post?

The Goomba fallacy is a reasoning mistake. When there are two contradicting opinions in one internet community, some readers think that everyone in the community is stupid, because the opinions are contradictory. They do not realise that there are separate people posting in the community, with separate opinions and beliefs. In other words, two groups with contradictory views are perceived as one group that contradicts itself.

It is the same people.

This isn't YouTube comments or facebook with 100+ million posters and users.

No this is GameSpot System Wars... Its been the same fanboys for the past 15 years posting, contradicting opinions.

Nice try though... Thought I was new here. I know you all.

No it is not...

The people who are indifferent to graphics are not the people hyping up the 1440p Zelda.

You tried, you failed.

Nope.

Its literally you...

Switch 2 from what I have been seeing looks better than Xbox Series S

Yeah, I think that is pretty much what made me go from cautious to wanting one again.

I have plenty of cash anyways. Each month I have a surplus of around 300 USDs worth of Swedish Krona, and that was BEFORE the raise.

Only reason I am not preordering is because there is no MSRP here. And stores are undercutting eachother. I will save money by buying the Switch 2 on release, rather than preordering.

Same old same old System wars.

Don't care about graphics?... But focus on them on every launch.

beyond that, the concept of "ownership" in gaming is laughable when most games require day 1 patches and routine updates..

This 100X!

We are generations removed from putting a disc in a console disconnected from the internet and playing a game. Why people are still trying to fight this battle is beyond me.

So your saying my kids are never going to experience PUBG as it was in the Beta?...

Shame.

I will teach them history of PUBG.

@FireEmblem_Man: Let's be serious about this. CP2077 came out December 2020, the game itself is 4 years old and pretty much every gamer has already played it by now. Hell, why even play CP2077 on Switch 2 when it should be play on PC? Whatever the reason, some of us aren't buying Switch 2 just for CP2077, we're buying it just for Nintendo exclusives. You fans are taking CP2077 Switch 2 version way too seriously.

Its a console launch cycle and hype window these fanboys don't know how to be serious. They're in a impenetrable snow globe of delusion/denial and self loathing.

They have a hard time accepting that Switch 2 is giving them last generation levels of performance... Which anyone with a basic understanding of hardware would have told them no s*** its a 10w handheld.

They are still holding out on two more months of development time and then the Switch 2 version will be PS5 levels with ray tracing and DLSS... That will compete with mid tier PC's because some developer during a game show hosted by Nintendo said it vaguely.

Honestly I can't... I left this place once. I thought these people got better but some of these accounts are 15-20 years old making these in there 30's or late 20's?... Shocking levels of IQ. Would probably avoid them in public type of people.
