All you need for the Wii (and I think I say this for most Wii owners) is a lightsabre game with a wii motion plus that comes with it. Some people will buy a Wii to have a definitive Light Sabre game. And with this attachment, this will be a heck of a lot of fun!! I can't imagine the nunchuk to be very good after using the Motion Plus for a while, unless Nintendo release a nunchuk 2 or something with Motion Plus inside (perhaps a wireless one with Motion Plus inside). Anyways - A Star Wars Light Sabre game, with Wii Motion Plus. I'd definitely buy that for a dollar!!! ;) For everything else, there isn't much point in the Motion Plus. Who really cares if they release a Carnival Games 2 with REAL TIME TILT!! (??) But for the games that require precision, it will really help immerse you in the experience. And with the Wii's graphics not being the best, the Motion Plus could really draw you in. For games that need just a bit more in terms of control, this is going to be brilliant. But too many people are looking at this as an essential piece of kit (if Sony kept the sixaxas as it was, and had a rumble add on for example (like on old n64 pads) Would you pay for a rumble add-on? No, probably not. It's not essential for most games. But to BE Luke Skywalker, you would probably pre-order a Motion Plus right now ;) Same as you would buy a rumble add-on if you wanted to play a game about Earthquakes (lol). I'm definitely getting it, if the right game comes out for it.
LOL! "the 360 has superior flowers" haha. What a comparison! Essential! ;) I think they should take pics of the people PLAYING the games - I think you will find the enjoyment found from both platforms will be the same :) even on a 1:1 pixel ratio! ;)
lol they should put the scary maze game down on there too haha ;). All joking aside, there are LOADS more to put up on here!! PLEASE gamespot fill it up with more games! Scratches on PC is pretty darn tense point and click adventure :)
Nice collection here - but there should be MORE!! I mean, Fatal Frame (or project zero) was a real jumpy game for me (and others will probably agree!). Forbidden Siren (and even the new siren blood curse) is extremely haunting. Much more than resident evil 5 -- Im only saying this, because the game isn't even out yet -- perhaps they should of put a game which is scary because of the gameplay and content - not because of how late its getting to us haha. Silent Hill 1 on ps1 goes down in history (for me) as the scariest game ever, its creepy and just like my hometown haha. But there will be games which freak people out more ways than others. Clock Tower on the ps1 was freaking tense! That scissor man needs his own movie, seriously.
I thought that the wii remote could already do this stuff... Hmm, if the software is good for it then its a buy from moi. Otherwise im just happy playing through mario galaxy again. The day the wii gets an exclusive survival horror game made for the system (like an exclusive re, or silent hill etc) is going to be a happy day. I would love for konami to make a silent hill wii exclusive game, and a black wii console :) No more "fun" things for now! :D
garibaldi14. Your comment is good, but hints towards fanboyism with the word "scams" at the end of saying microsoft. Buying a charging pack isn't really a scam at all. Madcatz, joytech etc make charger packs for the wii, call that a scam if you like. But the thing is, HOW sony would replace the battery. Surely, opening the pad yourself would void any manufacturers warranty, so sending it to sony for them to replace would be the next option. But then, you would be without a pad for however long it takes for you to send it, and them to send it back. But nobody really needs to worry about that since the battery life will probably last a few years. But thats with the sixaxis, rumble tech takes more power - it will probably require almost twice as many charges. So thats why I just thought it'd be a better (and more exciting) release if they included a LONG cable for charging. Plus, you can't compare the 360 and ps3 anymore. Both are great and seperate systems :)
Strange thing is - Sony used to be an absolutely QUALITY company, with their walkmans and stuff - you would get everything you need right out of the box. And with the ps2, all you needed to get was a memorycard and you were sorted :) Today's sony is a little different imo, I used to buy Sony stuff with the impression (and satisfaction) that i'd be getting pretty much the best and top-end thing on the market. With the Dual Shock 3 (and even the sixaxis) when you blow all that money on a pad, it doesn't seem like you are getting that same old-sony quality. The perfect Dual Shock 3, for me, would include a LONG charging cable (come on, the 1 foot cable is pretty useless) or at least an extra charging cable, because alot of people will be buying the dual shock 3 as a second pad for a mate (or giving their friend the sixaxis lol). And a battery that you can take out! If I buy a 360 controller, I can at least know that when the battery finally dies indefinately after a few years that I don't have to throw away the entire controller, I can just buy a new charge kit or third party power-pack. I guess for now, as long as Psycho Mantis can move the ps3 controller with the power of his mind - then thats ok :) One thing sixaxis veterans will notice is that the battery won't last as long as before with the rumble turned on (perhaps a test gamespot should of done is the difference between battery life with rumble on and rumble off). All I know is - sixaxis pads will end up going cheap on eBay, so I'll be buying up some of those for some friends to play multiplayer cod4. And not shell out on the pleasure of having exactly the same pad, with just some rumble put in.
PSP playing DivX movies.. now that would be a feature of the PSP that would be amazing. Skype? Well... not very grand. My only reason for dissing this feature is purely because you have Skype on your PC for members of your family (aswell as yourself) chatting to others online. How many members of YOUR family would you want tapping around on your PSP with the £30 camera on the top, access to all your savegames and all that.. For me, a webcam and a phone or cheap headset will cost you less than a tenner, and my nephews can use it whenever they like. The psp being a family skype hub is not for me, because I take care of the psp! Its a feature more suited to a DS, imo, because there is a mic already on that, and it can stand on a desk however you like without the need for a stand. And you can close it up when finished. oh well :(
Phenom was never meant to be an Intel killer. Infact, their inflated prices mean that Intel are killing themselves.. Pretty much everyone into heavy crysis gaming will get an intel, but for the rest of the world who have to work for money - AMD is their best option. :D And this processor, even though it is not quite exactly up to spec, AMD Cpu's tend to be alot cheaper over time than intels -- which is great.
I remember when Half Life 2 required some beefy specs. And you REALLY needed to have the quality on to enjoy that game (but it was quite fair to old computers too). HL2 was like a benchmark at the time. "My PC can run Half Life 2" was something to be proud of. And now, if you say "It runs half life 2 on full" its STILL something to be proud of. Crysis is quite possibly that next step where people will say "my pc runs crysis on full". Once you hit this benchmark, it should be a while before you have to makeyet another upgrade. When I had HL2, it was years before another game really was impossible to play on my system. Then, model shader 3.0 came out and I am screwed now... I can't even play Spiderman 3 (which is probably a good thing.. heh). But the rate that technology has moved in the past year - its twice as fast as when hl2 hit the shelves. If I get a Nvidia 8800 - It will probably be obsolete by the time the 9800 comes out, and it will be likely that all new games after crysis will be "chuggers". When I got a pc that runs HL2 on full everything, it was about 2 - 3 years after the game came out. Then, Doom 3 was a big deal. Luckily my PC could also run doom 3 on relatively high settings. But then quake 4 was a real system eater, along with FEAR. If I had done the upgrade for those games, it would of been an absolute waste because dx10 wasn't out and neither was shader 4.0. Those games, even though they were amazing, they were not "benchmarks". Crysis seems to be the game where, once you have made the upgrade, it will be safe for you to exist for a year or two without another upgrade. Hopefully alot of developers will find crysis is too much of a benchmark, also when considering its more powerful than all the consoles' best titles, so it will be quite a few years for other developers to make games as advanced as this. Half Life 3 - if that ever surfaces, will probably be the next benchmark after Crysis. Usually, games like HL2 and FarCry and Crysis offer performance, and a brilliant game engine that people aspire to create. Once you have a PC capable of running those engines - it is safe to say that you will probably see alot of games trying to be like crysis, but not quite getting there. So, once you get a perfect performance out of crysis, you should be ok for a year or two until the next big-benchmark comes out.
