NFL Kickoff whooo, lets go Nine--------damn

Howdy all sorry for the gap in entries. Been busy being lazy ;) weekend went by fine. TNA was its regular hour of mediocrity on Friday, tho I figured out how to get my VCR to program weekly recordings of my shows so now I wont forget to tape them like I did on other weeks before. I've been playing a lot of Day of Reckoning lately, pretty damn fun I might add. My review should be posted any day now so I should have a link up on my next entry.

On Friday I hung out with Steve a bit, shot some hoops and played a few rounds of horse. Went back to my place and pretty much stayed up all night playing Day of Reckoning. I swore I played that game for a good 15 hours in total this weekend. On Saturday I didn't really do anything of note, except grabbed a pizza with Joey and did a little bit of grocery shopping. By groceries, I mean 80% frozen dinner meals :) Banquet $1 meals and 89 cent Totino's Pizzas are great for the price. I did buy some more spaghetti and garlic toast, and I plan on cooking that again.

Sunday was the first NFL Sunday of the regular season. I spent it mostly bouncing back and forth between my PC and the television. My fantasy football team started off with a good 65-50 or so lead after the first set of games, but my opponent had Culpepper and Moss on his team, and well, Culpepper threw 5 TD passes, and by the end of Sunday's games I was down about 170-78 :(

It was nice to see the Vikes win big over the Cowboys. Though Kleinsausser got injured, which sucks, and so did Moe Williams. Now the Vikes are down to one healthy running back, but he might have to face an impending 4 game suspension for drug abuse which he is trying to appeal. You never thought a team could go through 3 great running backs in a season, but the Vikes have shocked us before and they will again.

49ers started off horrible against the Falcons, Rattay got injured in the second quarter after doing nothing, Dorsey took over and actually led them to a good drive but the Niners only got a FG out of it. Early in the second half Dorsey got a mild shoulder sprain and Rattay came back in again, he drove them all the way down but threw a pick in the endzone, which a Falcon player ran back 85 yards to set up another Falcons TD. Thankfully, that was the 49ers only main mistake of second half. Rattay made up for it and got a TD when Eric Johnson made a spectacular catch in the endzone, and could of tied the game with a 2 point conversion, but the play failed and Falcons went on to win 20-18. Still a loss, but not as awful as many were predicting.

Other notes from rest of the games: Wow, Colts/Pats had a great season opening game on Thursday. Good to see the Pats come out on top in that one. Also great to see the Lions end their NFL-record losing streak on the road, too bad it was against the Bears as I'm starting to warm up to Rex Grossman, he gave it his all out there. There were a few BS calls in that game too, whenever Terell made a great play for them, they just kept getting called back. Gannon struggled a bit today against the Steelers, and you had to feel for him in his loss as he kept it competive towards the end despite all the turnovers he commited. Good to see Garcia leading the Browns to a whomp over the Ravens, San Fran shouldn't of let him go IMO. Terell Owens was superb in his debut with the Eagles, 3 TD's in one game is not a bad way to start off with a new team. D-Mac really loves him it looks like.

That about wraps it up for me for now.........lata!
