I'm listening to the 49ers/Seahawks games on the webradio right now, and the Niners are barely doing anything. It's a lil ways into the 3rd quarter and they're already down 32-0. I feel like that coach on Waterboy who's watching film of their past games. They'll get a decent play here and there, and then fumble or throw a pick or something.........blah. At least my fantasy players are doing well. Aaron Brooks threw for over 300 yards. And I picked up Stecker in replacement for the injured Stephon Davis as RB and he ran for over a 100 yards and a TD. Brett Favre already has a 150 yards and 2 passing TDs shortly into the 2nd quarter too, so yahoo for me. I should have my usual fantasy update come Tuesday.
At least the Vikes won a close game against the Bears which was pretty fun to watch. They were self destructing early on in the second half with a plethora of holding calls against them, but they managed to come together and close it out nicely. Ended up getting calls from Corey & Jarod too during the games and ended up doing some running commentary during the games with them, which kinda made it a hair easier watching the 49ers get annihilated.
The rest of the work week went by decent enough, except during one shift Aubree decided to laugh in my face as we were having a conversation where everyone was shocked that I told them I haven't seen any of the first three Star Wars movies to hit theaters back in the 70's and 80's. We start getting in a debate about the 'episode 4' movie was originally called 'A New Hope' or if they added the subtitle in at a later date. This leads to Aubree saying something along the lines of 'Well, this number of book in the Star Wars series was called 'A New Hope.' To which I respond, "The movies were based on the books? Didn't the movies precede the books?" Aubree then proceeded to laugh in my face out loud for almost an entire minute. Now personally, I could give a rat's ass upon what preceded what, but I was simply stating what I knew. But the fact that she laughed directly in my face just a few feet away for me for that period of time increased my anger level to new heights. The thought actually crossed my mind if I should deck her right then and there, before I realized how foolish it would be to do that and get fired.......over freaking Star Wars of all things. Just for that I'm not even gonna buy the goddam trilogy or even see the last movie in the theater.........unless someone pays me to see them....hehehe.
I ended up coming in to work on one of my days off on Friday because we were behind in the work week, due to Aubree missing two days, and Steve working at around 50% or so with a sprained ankle. So I picked up some rarely approved overtime. Ended up getting 7 hours overtime so I should have a pretty good paycheck. After work Corey and I went over to Carlos to try out the new Tiger Woods 2005 game. Feels almost the same as 2003, but there's a new chipping system, a new announcer, some new cut-scenes, and the create-a-player system. The create-a-golfer system in TW2005 is almost on par with the create a wrestlers found in most current WWE titles. I also picked up Burnout 3. It is a helluva lot more fun than the second installment. Wish there was more competitors against you in race mode, playing online against just five other opponents isn't as fun as say the 16-player competetions I enjoyed in the pair of MotoGP titles on Xbox Live. At least the Crash mode is still just as mind-blowing as I remember it, and is even better now that it can be played co-operatively.
On Saturday I went Cosmic Bowling with Jarod, Dawn, Chris, and Kyle. We finished two game in which Kyle won both. I didn't fare too bad. I started off both games kinda weak, but doubled my points in the last half of the frames. I bowled a 107, and a 99, I was winning too at 62 in the 5th frame in my third game too when they shut things down. What luck. I think for me I have best control with a 12 pound ball, but for the most part most 12 pound house balls fave small finger holes, so I end up picking a 16 pound ball that tend to have bigger holes. I dont have too much control over those as much as I do with 12 pounders, so I've actually been considering getting a custom made 12 pound ball, but those things cost damn near a 200-300 dollars so we'll just have to see what happens.
Well, I typed myself out again, I'll be back on Tuesday with my Fantasy Football update.
